Van Hoy could be a potential candidate, but I know he hated Floreal from SEC dealings, so I’d be even more surprised if he decided to work for an egomaniac.

Sadly enough the track coaching profession is about getting people to make noise about yourself more then anything else.
The 'fraternity wants to see the Purdue head coach as a supercoach well deserving of the KY job, while the SIU one on the other hand as incompetent.
Now if you actually look at the numbers, SIU is more balanced on both genders with similar NCAA points and finishes and amazing competitive all around teams. Their best results rival with Purdue on the sprints side and its getting done in the MVC ....
Yeah its on Purdue staff as well , the throws assist. coach that was there before seemed to have produced more NCAA points then the Purdue HC so far...
But nothing to see here, keep bringing up the Purdue dude until he gets a nicer better power 5 job. I d be curious to see these coaches that had only coached at big name schools how theyd fair up in a mid major.

This is true stuff right here it’s easy to look up. And on the subject on big time head coaches. Most of their appointments were due to them playing their cards right, a good bit of them are glorified assistant that lucked up and have no business being a head. Some of the guys names that get tossed up on this thread often, fall into this category.. it’s talked about on the inside between the coaches if you’re in you will hear it. They wouldn’t do squat in a mid major but be a one dimensional team with all money going to the events they coach and wouldn’t develop a soul.

That's exactly right. Purdue was a big nothing burger before he got there and now they're in the mix at the NCAA level. Dude can recruit and coach. What else do y'all want for crying out loud.

Ridiculous. Purdue is one of the biggest turnaround programs in the nation, and no disrespect intended toward the SIU staff.
Flo is a cool dude and his staff enjoy working for him. Just jealous garbage out there when people get their tails beat up. Look for several to join him at UT.
And Iona. What's happening at Iona? Great program, a couple changes in staff recently. Any insights?
