I was leaning towards voting Harris. Trump is too old and too loony.
But the disgusting people Harris has surrounded herself with are probably the last straw for me. Walz lying about everything and being accused of assaulting minors. Harris' husband being a domestic abuser in public, and who knows what else in private. I can't support that ticket.

You can certainly fault the Harris campaign for losing momentum after they trotted out Liz Cheney and talked a lot about being bipartisan in an age where such a thing no longer exists. But at the same time, the Trump campaign has been nothing more than a steaming pile of garbage. Trump is campaigning in California. California. His small dollar donors have plummeted. His campaign left rally goers to walk 2 hours back to the parking lot after a Coachella rally. His messaging just keeps going off the rails and lacks the discipline that was there when Bannon ran the 2016 campaign. In short, Trump is not doing anything that you can point to that is winning over voters other than being very Trumpy.
But I think the more things change, the more they remain the same. This is actually just a typical Karl Rove style campaign. You do everything you can to turn off voters and focus on a few wedge issues in hopes that your base turns out to win the day. Except that the focus on wedge issues hasn't been very focused. Instead, the election is shaping up as a choice between two lifestyle brands. So, polling at this point may not be telling the entire story.
My theory is that Trump is going to blue states hoping for angry people to protest so he can fire up the base with more hatred for libs. Everything ties back to grifting.

if red areas would just pick up the pace and work harder and stop with the dumb stuff, be more like the rich places, the country would be so much better off. We'd stop having to give them free rides. Less welfare.

And in return the weak will stay put and hate the cities.
