"Go Away" - Throwing that term around is pretty lofty and it doesn't undermine that coach. The women's TJ is not "world renowned" by anyone coaching it in the US if I look back at years of results. World renowned is a tough thing to achieve and those men mentioned have achieved it in the horizontal jumps. Now the women's LJ is a different story and so is the men's LJ and TJ. We do have some "world renowned" coaches in those events. I suspect Eskind will earn his way to that list one day. Appears to be a very good young coach. Just needs a job as I understand it from posts here.
No one has mentioned Chris Miltenberg for Stanford. He is the choice. Leaving G-Town women this week. Knows the new Stanford AD from Georgetown. Wrapped up today, announced tomorrow.

I know the friend of someone who once worked in California. This guy is getting too much credit, and I think he's a liar, but I can't spell very good, so my opinion is immediately useless. I also know nothing about Oberlin.
The high school team I coach would crush Oberlin. Maybe I should apply at Stanford.
1) Hold all the kids on your team to the academic standards they have at Oberlin. 2) Have at it.I pick Oberlin in a sweep. If you disagree with this, post your high school name. As a college coach, I can cross check, GPA, SAT and 5k times. I guarantee you don't have more than one kid who could both get into Oberlin and run at their level. I don't disbelieve those schools exist but I know most of the coaches who have those types of kids and not one would post such arrogant drivel.14 guys sub 2 in the 8. Sure you can match that.

3) Cost of attendance at Oberlin is extremely high-right around 59k. Not too many who can get in AND afford it. Of course rarely does anyone pay full sticker price, but it is very pricey.

JUCO can give scholarships, D3 cannot. JUCO lets anyone in, Oberlin's admissions standards are fairly tough. JUCO costs nothing, Oberlin as said earlier cost around 59k a year.
It should be MUCH easier to get better athletes into a JUCO rather than Oberlin. So if you consider that somewhat impressive at a JUCO (it isnt) then it should be a F-ing miracle at a D3 school.

Check out their women's team. They're pretty tough AND had a couple girls from California. Keep in mind that the coach was also an Olympian which carries some weight as well.

Eskind is a solid coach, but you are definitely stretching the butt kissing. You know you are talking about the WOMEN'S triple jump? You can't be world renowned when the other nations laugh at us. No US coach is World renowned in the Women's TJ. We SUCK in that event!!! We are just lucky to have "A" participant every 4 years...
Ray was NOT an Olympian, but did run for the US in the World CC Meet. Big time stud who would do well not matter what environment he was coaching.

I already know all that about JUCO. Still you said sub 2! Hahahah. That's terrible even for D3 standards. Please don't start counting unless its at least sub 1:55 for D3, 1:53 for D2, 1:51 D1. Those are legitimate times to be bragging about for the number of athletes you have under those marks.
You should try reading a little closer. One loud mouth said his high school team could easily beat Oberlin. It was not true. That was pointed out. Case closed. You think Oberlin is not a strong D3 program, fine. i don't disagree with you. But seriously, try to focus on what the points are.
