The illegally deported man is a test case to see what Trump can get away with. If this is't stopped -- jail Bondi and Miller for a start -- expect an American citizen born in the U.S., whose family has been in the U.S. for over 100 years, to get sent outside the country to a prison where they cannot be found.
I personally believe that the illegally deported man is not in El Salvador. Trump has him hidden somewhere else where can ignore legal due process. The same "they were sent to El Salvador" but they were sent somewhere else (double top secret) is coming soon.
you don't need to go all conspiratorial. his family isn't contesting that he isn't in el salvador and neither is the president of el salvador.
Similarly you don't need to take the next step and say "Trump will do it to American citizens next." That just feeds Trump diehards.
Stick to the case at hand which has many procedural concerns.
And if Bondi or someone is held in contempt, we could quickly have a bigger problem if Trump just dismissed the charges. Or he could just pardon her right?
What matters tge most is not if one if for lower or higher taxes, less or more immigrants etc. What matters is if one is for or against democracy. In a democracy the leaders should have as little power as possible. Trump's administration got way to much power. Holding elections is not enough to call it a democracy. They have elections in Russia too....
These all sound like items that should be addressed with due process. I have to constantly tell myself that MAGA supporters aren’t all bad people, they just, for some reason that I can’t make sense of, refuse to give any issue the bare minimum level of analysis required. Because of this, they’re often arguing against themselves and regularly contradicting their own logic.
Is there some political football being played by both sides? Sure. But the Trump administration is currently defying a 9-0 SCOTUS ruling AND arguing more and more for the inconsistent application of due process. These two facts, literally regardless of any other facts, should outrage and terrify all Americans.
If he’s returned and given due process and after a legal treatment of these items his deportation is then deemed lawful to go forward, we can still say we’re a country ruled by our Constitution, under a representative democracy, and not a dictatorship. It’s baffling this is even up for debate. We will all suffer if this element of our democracy is allowed to fail.

Bernie Sanders has been repeatedly uttering the phrase “Israel has a right to defend itself” on his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour with Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, which in the year 2025 can only be interpreted as blatant genocide apologia.
Israel does not have “a right to defend itself” against an occupied population in a giant concentration camp. Under international law it has a right to end the occupation, and that’s it. “Israel has a right to defend itself” is just a slogan people say when they want to justify supplying an ongoing genocide.
At one point in the tour Sanders stood passively watching as police dragged off rally attendees who draped a Free Palestine flag over the US flag during his speech. He just awkwardly continued monologuing as their flag was confiscated and they were forcibly removed, even as the crowd booed and eventually began chanting “Free Palestine”.
Sanders has been mixing his support for Israel in with periodic criticisms of Netanyahu and the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza, always taking care to make his criticisms about the behavior of Israel’s current leadership and not the nature of the racist apartheid state itself.
Sanders is doing this for two reasons. Firstly, he is working to galvanize a big tent inclusive coalition of Democrats in opposition to Trump, and he wants that big tent to include people who think genocide is bad and people who think genocide is fine. He doesn’t want to offend the pro-genocide liberals.
Secondly, Sanders is doing this because he himself is a Zionist. Like other liberal Zionists, Bernie Sanders upholds a vision of an Israel that has never, ever existed: one which remains an ethnostate dominated by Jews, but which conducts itself in a kind and just manner, without constantly murdering and abusing Palestinians.

Also, as recently as a month or two ago, I probably would have thought that the incredibly unlikely impeachment of Trump would result in a president at least somewhat better than Trump (as disgusting as it still would be). But now, I'm honestly not sure that Vance would be noticeably better.
