Freespeech, laws, etc are supposed to apply to the worst of the worst. A judge said this dude wasn't supposed to leave the country. He shouldn't have let the country. The Trump administration acknowledges that right? I think the debate now is how hard they have to try to bring him back.
From my point of view it doesn't matter, whether he was a "Maryland dad" or an "MS13 gang member" (those things aren't mutually exclusive) or a wife beater. The laws still apply to him.

Libs are not defending the man. He could be a total loser. We are defending the PROCESS. If he was convicted of a crime, or given the appropriate hearing, then deported, so be it.
