The untethering of immigration law from the checks and balances of the judiciary is a necessity for the Trump administration to be able to conduct the wholesale removal of millions of immigrants from the US. If the Trump administration has to give everyone a hearing before they are deported, it will take decades to deport the numbers the Trump administration is targeting. But if the Trump administration can just call everyone a terrorist and ship them off to El Salvador to be disappeared in Bukele's gulag, problem solved.
If you are pasty white and have bought into the Great Replacement Theory/Blood and Soil (aka neo-Nazi), then there is no problem with sending innocent people to the gulag because the US is first and foremost a nation of white people and those awful brown people from south of the border are an existential threat to our way of life.
