he crossed the road thru that maniacal traffic
and shook my hand with both of his.
his expression was that of a rabbit cornered by a pack of wolves...
quite appropriate in the situation.
I would have never run where he was running with a crew vehicle next to me.
(and I would not have liked it all alone)
I think we are off to a positive start.
we should have the 24 hour coverage in place when they get back on the road.

Umm... ever heard of Asher Delmott?
How was he hammering out 70 miles/day and some at below 7 minute pace (even below 6) and now he completely falls apart to alternating between walking and jogging down the hills? Only in Rob's fan club world on FB this make any sense because of his honorable character and his meticulous running form.

I see people putting their dreams on hold so they can care for disabled children or adults. I see people volunteering behind the scenes at charities, giving up their hobbies and putting in hours of thankless work, often to see their hearts broken because helping the smiling children in the brochures often turns out to be complicated. Those people are sacrificing. Some guy who plays in a charity golf tournament or does a charity run challenge isn't sacrificing.
Rob does full-time the hobby that we enjoy and pay to do. Based on that article from 2004, he's made doing endurance sports for charity a full-time gig for well over a decade. Good on him. Yes, I guess I am a bit jealous that he gets to travel all over running with folks telling him how great he is while I have to try to fit my runs between working and volunteering and posting on this board.
Defend him if you want. I think he cheated but I also think the accusations on this thread have gone way over the top. Just shut up about it being selfless or "for the kids".

Laz doesn't need to ask any questions. His only mission is to film the last days of Robert Young.
Everything depends on how many days Laz and friends can stay there. If they leave in a couple of days, the cheating will immediately start up again.

Note to Laz. We don't need a report on the legitimacy of what he is doing now as much as he is basically crawling along at a pedestrian pace. That is exactly where we thought he would be from the start. Although it didn't cross my mind that he is still even cheating the slow walk/jog. From your experience and what you've seen him run or whatever other information that he shared w/ you or gathered yourself, did he run the miles that he was cruising until 3 days ago before Asher's post?
Can we get some boots on the ground to verify whether it's really this Laz geezer and his entourage verifying this Rob Young geezer and his entourage?
Some ultra runners, the vast majority, are really full of themselves. Insufferable. They take over message boards and go look at me look at me, I can't run fast but I can go 90 miles, 95 150, 1000. And their little cadre of fans goes whoo whoo!

All these Laz haters....what makes you think this is the first time they've seen the RV? I'm betting that they've been watching him for a little while. If you really want to punish this guy, you get some solid evidence, then announce yourself just like they did, make him suffer for a good while, in fact, let him finish the adventure and then just as he starts accepting the accolades, you say, oh, by the way, here's some evidence that we gathered weeks ago.
If I'm Rob and realize I'm busted stone cold, the first thing I'm going to think is oh god, if I knew two weeks ago, I could've saved a lot of pain and a lot of money.
