Ohio State sucks. Their men's distance coach announced to their team they would be going "all foreign". At the flagship school of the great state of Ohio, that is terrible. Terrible place to train (city), school only cares about football and basketball, weather is awful, the team is terrible right now. They should just get sprinters and field eventers.

I second that... Particularly the part about going foreign. That should be one program with foreign athletes. Only a lazy coach would do so, and I know what he is saying is true they want to go foreign! Wait and check out the roster when school starts.

Faustin-Parker was an assistant to Trevor Graham @ Sprint Capitol and has no business coaching anywhere in the sport.

Here is my question. Bobby is a great guy but when is he going to go out on his own and take over a program. He has been a loyal assistant and going to Wisconsin makes no sense because he would be another assistant. Surely he is ready to make that next step and take over a distance program to really see what he is made of

In this sport, not everybody is built to lead. It is a pretty comfortable spot to just be the athletes friend as opposed to making tougher decisions.

I am sure Dave would keep him with a $ offer, but I doubt Wisconsin even looked at him. Gavin is a good recruiter and loyal to Mick. No brainer!

The position is women's coach only and who knows what the pay looks like. I would also venture a guess that Karen Dennis most likely isn't committing a ton of $$ to the distances. It's a great school and contrary to what the haters spew, the weather is decent-certainly better than what Coach McGuire has to deal with in Ann Arbor. There are plenty of great places to run and it's just not that difficult to recruit-particularly in state.

Scott Jones would be a great hire for this position, but who knows if he wants to continue working for a difficult-to-get-along-with head coach.

I think that Scott Jones would be a perfect solution. The guy has a lot of success with middle distance. In addition, he has experience in working for a difficult head coach. The former assistant at Toledo, Sarah Vergote, may be a nice choice too as she was at Iowa State last year and was a finalist at Ohio State with KD was hired.
