What's happening is Israel bombing Hamas targets with civilians purposely placed so that some of their deaths become inevitable. The civilian deaths are terrible, but the blame should be lodged with Hamas. In no other place are civilians purposely situated near military installations, armored, etc. This is all purposely calculated by Hamas. Greater civilian deaths will bring greater sympathy and then anger until pressure mounts on Israel to stop their action and leave Gaza. Taken to its conclusion the IDF returns to Israel, Hamas rebuilds, restocks, and in the next go around are much better armed (thanks to Iran) with more sophisticated capabilities. Israel has decided that this cycle needs to end.
Hamas is not pushing the button to launch missiles on Palestinians.... the IDF is launching these strikes knowing full well that they are mostly killing innocent civilians. Northern Gaza is next is now being bulldozed by bombs and rightful landowners are being cleared out to make way for incoming Israel white immigrants living in newly constructed Israeli buildings. The seaside homes will be worth a lot of money to Jewish settlers.
