Down goes the Dow

SPX has gained every month in the first half of the year, and it is up 8 months in a row for just the fifth time in 26 years. Long streaks like these have consistently led to further gains in the following months. Likewise, strong gains to start the year - SPX gained 8% in the first half and NDX gained 16% - have most often led to further gains in the second half of the year. The bullish trend in equities is supported by continued advances in the macro economic data.

If you want to be in the market invest in the cheapest possible ETF you can.

Investment "experts" (other than those big enuff or inside enuff to affect the market -- or those with inside info) always do worse than the market over the long haul. For an obvious reason -- their fees. You are paying them for nonp-existent "expertise".

So reading the link you posted, does that mean the SPX will be expected to be lower in the second half of the year? Am I reading that right? If so should I get out of it since I recently invested in it? Not a big part of my investment but just curious if I should look into something else. I'm trying to diversify...

Also, anyone have inputs on stock options? What was your first experience like? I'm not looking heavily in doing this but like to dabble a little. I did read up/listened to some webinars on the Fidelity site which thanks to a poster on here awhile back who suggested the brokerage firm.
