They keep jobs bc most ADs want
1. Good grades and no noise from program.
2. Numbers.
At Least from all out teams except basketball and football.

Don't know where Stewart is going...
Rumor is TEXAS STATE pursuing big name former coach from P5 conference
Another RUMOR is Georgia Assistants making $200+
Georgia better win ncaas every year then
Wassup with Baylor?
We don't have any boots on the ground in Texas?
Anybody know how much Harbour was making (more than Georgia assistants?)???
Duke is easily the closest comparison to Vanderbilt. High academic standards should not preclude you to focus on distance/XC.
There are sprinters, jumpers, Multis and throwers who get great grades, enough for Duke to win the ACC, so there’s a market.
Vandy doesn’t have to win SECs but they can definitely be competitive.

Only one problem with that comparison…
If you score Duke’s ACC Championship team into the SEC, they get 13th in that 15 team meet. Vandy has to compete with a very different level of talent in the SEC. Maybe you consider 13th competitive?

Sategna?
10th actually which doesn’t sound that great except Vandy has never finished that high.
They have had 33 recognized as All-Americans at Vandy since 96’ and all but 2 have NOT been distance runners. They have never scored at the NCAA meet on the track in distance.
Somehow they finished 6th in XC one year but none of them scored on the track.
Whites only staff.

Vanderbilt got 0 points at NCAA's this year, as well as a bunch of other teams. How do these people keep jobs?
Vandy scored 0 points in the SEC meet!

That was certainly not for a lack of distance talent. Vandy has been very successful in recruiting great women's distance talent. Developing said talent has been another thing. It seemed like they focused on all their talent being 1500m runners in the Spring, when the talent of their distance runners was probably more geared toward the 5000m.

So what? The problem is when anyone gets a job exclusively because of their race or gender, not that any specific race or gender gets a job. The complaints are when a clearly unqualified person gets a job that well qualified people either did not get, or worse, didn't even get interviewed for. Both of these guys appear to be qualified for the roles they have been hired in. It' s not a case of two guys that have no coaching or recruiting experience, or that have one year of "volunteer" experience, as has been the case for many of the gender and race based hires we've seen.
Four distance coaches on staff??? This is what’s wrong with the sport. How many stop watch
holding, Kenyan hand holders do they need?
Thank you. Stop the racist freakin comments.
My comment was to Life. It’s not ok or cool to say that stuff
