They've settled into 5:55 mile pace. I thought I would see more cold water misters out there. Lots of opportunities to take in fluids and get sponges. Japanese girl just put an ice necklace on! If legal, why not?

Is that a typo? Wouldn't make sense if the 7k split is 25:33

Splits? Live results somewhere? They're not flying BUT it looks too fast to me. Field str5inging out already. Saw about 5 women hit the first water table 1:35 into the race!
Roza Dereje dropped out
Obviously no pre race agreement among the runners. It's every man for himself! Slowly ratcheting down the pace. Now on 5:50 mile pace. 2:33 finish. Too fast.

You’re out that money. She just stopped, you could see it on the back of the shot haha.
Extremely aggressive frontrunning. No fear of bonking despite the heat, but definitely a risky move.
Saw her stepping off the course, sorry...
crazy move by Chepngetich, I just can't imagine it will end well
also japanese women way back at 10k, I'm disappointed
A break already!!! Loco. 4 take off Chepingetich, Chelimo, Aga and one other E African or Bahrainian runner.
Ingebritsen been reinstated in the 5k btw. Just seen it on twitter
This is bonkers. Heat index of 112 F at the start means that Chepngetich broke the field within a little over 10km at 2:35 flat pace. Curious to see if she can hang on. Kind of thought she looked better than those behind her when she started to go.
12km 43:26
I noticed that Chepngetich wasn't listed at 12km, but she's still there and a bit ahead of that split. She's really picked up the last couple km.
