Where are the men?
Washington state had to finish right behind Oregon or Boise state for them to make it(unless they were top 2 of course), if cal had finished right behind them they would have blocked them from being pushed in

Michigan State and Indiana tied for 2nd and Indiana stays home.
Last year when EMU took 3rd.
I am still confused how yesterday LRC had the Great Lakes region sending 5 mens teams.
Amy Eloise seems to be getting stronger every week. Wouldn't be surprised to see her Trump all the competition in Terra Haute.
Watched the NE Regional today. That was an impressive showing by Syracuse today, pretty close to a tempo. They started out around 24th after the first lap, moved up to 12-16 after the second around VCP, moved up to the front in the third lap, then dropped the hammer on the 4th lap. Last 800 Knight and Benne were out front looking around , trying to pull up the rest of the team past the Iona guys . Knight was even yelling out encouragement to his guys. I can't wait to see him take on King Ches. The whole team looked super relaxed .
It's a technicality that doesn't change much but -Iowa St. And San Fran should both be pulled into the field at the same time with 5pts each.....you don't use a tiebreaker scenario to determine who gets in (provided there are enough spots left in the field) that would make 21. USF and 22. Iowa St
That really shouldn't change much of anything since Iowa St had not lost to any remaining teams I believe...
You do use the tie breaker because who getsin first adds wins to the remaining field differently. Adding IsU first changes the wins differently than adding USF.
They always break the ties.

Did they get rid of the old blocker rule? As Illinois should block Iowa st. And not get pushed in. As they finished 6th at big tens so IU and mich would go before Illinois.

Plus IU gets points if Illinois gets in or are u saying pushed in teams don't give points to those who beat them? Sorry that seems wrong. IU also beat a couple of teams at pre-nationals UTEP and cal, do they not get points for those wins? Have to say if Illinois gets in and IU doesn't this is the worst selection process ever.
First, Donal Sutherland is right about adding teams one at a time.
I don't know what the blocker rule was. But yeah the rules say for Illinois to get pushed in, and because of that, beating them doesn't give any points for Indiana.
Unfortunately IU got a tough break this year (if our projections hold true). The only qualifiers they beat were UTEP (at Pre-Nats) and Illinois (at Big 10s), so they just had one point. They didn't go to a big early-season meet like Griak. The unpopularity of Pre-Nats compared to Wisconsin Invite may have hurt them.
In favor of the selection process, I do think Illinois earned their way in by beating the #13 ranked team Iowa State at regionals. Indiana has a solid team but they just had to get a bit more done either during the season or at regionals.
What I don't like about this system is that Michigan got 5th at Big 10s, 4th at Pre-nats, and 4th at Roy Griak, but since they were 5th at the Great Lakes Region, they are just out of the running? They were ranked nationally, only lost to other nationally ranked programs at the regional, but aren't going to Nationals? That seems messed up.

Yeah, ROUGH. Crazy to think that Gilbert was 32nd at Nats last year.
In other words they were good in the first third of the season but ran poorly at Big Ten and just to prove that it wasn't a fluke they ran poorly again at Regionals. They are trending in the wrong direction and don't belong at Nationals. They are currently the 3rd best team in the state of Michigan.
