What if I were to tell you that the winner's 10k pr is 4:48 mile pace... Is 4:45 pace for 8k really out of the question?! Sounds like you have a classic case of being butt hurtin... sorry your school dodges the competition all year

I'm not good at math but isn't .125 of a mile equivalent to 200 meters? And if that's the case, wouldn't .1 be about 25 to 30 seconds at least added to your time?

It was just a good day for racing in Ohio today. The key will be to see if anyone can come close to their time at their next race.

I've never heard of a full distance race where everyone in the top 10 pr's by 40+ seconds. The course may also be fast, but all of these guys have run at other fast courses.

What if I were to tell you that pace on a track and pace on grass are not directly comparable?

Since when do times matter in cross (other than comparing within the race)? If this was a track race it would be different, but points matter way more than anything else so I don't understand why everyone is getting hung up on times? everyone else that makes it to nationals in november will get to run on the exact same course its not like anyone's times yesterday will directly affect the results at the only race that matters. Every course is different, and most conditions are different, lets look at this meet for what it was.

NCC is awsome. I've heard that the 6K course was .1 short (35-45 secs.)but don't know about the 8K. Maybe NCC can run in the DI Nats this year if this was legit.

I heard the pre nats course was only a 6k actually. I wonder what's wrong with NCC then? I get it might be a tough course, but those are still pretty bad 6k times for a team like NCC. They have a lot of work to do if they want to compete in November.

Could NCC create 2 teams that could trophy this year at D3 nationals? Making both as even as possible from Pre Nats.

No need to discuss that. The answer is no. NCC (as an entire team) deserves to be ranked #1 right now, but the idea that they could split their squad and form two of the top four teams in the country is ridiculous.

I bet Lacrosse could put 2 teams in the top 4 this year. They are always really good.

No. Do you understand what you are doing here? If ANY team ran a 7.89ish K race and claimed those times to be their official 8k times, you could make similar false assumptions.

I'm sorry. I know this isn't what you want to hear. NCC IS a excellent program but they DO NOT have 3 23 minute 8k guys. And 50 D3 men did not break 25min in the 8k at a single meet.

I remember someone posted about NCC being able to put 2 teams on the podium last year as well yet they didn't even end up winning.

Again, excellent program, but we'll have to wait until Nov to see how everything pans out.

Are we talking about the same Eau Claire team that got 11th at regionals in 2011? What a joke. Josh Thorson easily overtrained this summer and the frosh has no experience in big meets. If you want to see a trophy contender, look no further than LAX. Ciesielski is making a bid for the individual championship. He had food poisoning otherwise he would have outclassed a stellar Roy Griak field.

I heard a rumor that Jib just walked the 4.8 mile Friday power-session in an unheard of 42 minutes. Anyone know if this is true? That's an all-timer mark if so.

Nope, I think we are talking about the 2014 team?

A storied history is great, and certainly helps with recruiting, but what will matter most is the seven that toe the line THIS year.
