The leaders were
1:29:49 at 30k
Then they ran 14:41 the next 5k for
1:43:30 at 35k.
Problem is that is 14:41+1:29:49= 1:44:30 not 1:43:30.
I had forgotten that the clocks near the finish had not started at the start of the race. They then decided to start them a minute after the start.
I forgot to add a minute to the times for those splits.
So the splits were right but not the total time. Meb ran 2:05:15 not 2:04:15. Still an American record.
Most importantly he won the race.
Glad we got that cleared away.
