I must pay respects to Cam for being awesome, but I am a lakers fan. I like teams that win, and have every advantage to winning. So win you really look at it Lawi is the real man. He will for ever be my favorite runner. Just like I love kobe bryant, the yankees, and Notre Dame cheerleading. If you want to be cool like me I suggest you start think likewise.

I couldn't disagree more. I am a highschool runner and I do just fine at 30 miles a week. I think if Cam ran 30 miles like me he would be better. 'Just an opinion'

I wonder if where cam would have placed in other years. There is no way he would have beat chelenga but what about Rupp, McDougal, Rohatinsky, Ritz or Torres.
I think with his ability he would have taken down McDougal, Rohatinsky, Torres,
I think Rupp would ot kick him like he did chelenga, but maybe he would be up with Ritz and hall in the legenday battle.
He isn't afraid to take the pace, so in some of the years where the pace was slow he might have been able to break away and never come back.
I don't see him beating Rupp in that scenerio. I wonder if his kick would have been strong enough to take down chelega in that same year.
Definitely would have taken down rohat, good question about ritz?
It would be interesting to see the kinda kick he would have mustered in different conditions assuming he didn't try and surge away from the field.

If you knew either of them, you would realize you couldn't have 2 more different examples of a runner. Baumgartner was riddled with injuries (why he quit early) and only managed to work up to 60 mpw the week before NCAA's that year. That 3rd place was literally a modern-day miracle.

This "where does he go from here" idea has to be one of the dumbest things commonly believed in running. Where does he go? I don't know, he could run more miles, the same miles with more intensity, less miles with significantly more intensity, or change his workouts. There are so many more things to training than some straight mileage count.
