Shit happens at end-of-season meets. I guarantee you're going to see slow ass times out of the D1 regionals today and at nationals. Last year there were 3 guys over 30 minutes at D1s.
Only difference is that you only need to run about 30 minutes to win in D3 nats....

Yawn. Mediocre D1 guys going off about the times in D3. That's not old at all. The guys who make D3 nats can beat most of the runners in D1. That's a fact. The best in D1 are, except in a few rare cases (Nick Symmonds, Will Leer) way faster than anyone in D3. Also a fact. These facts are well-known and obvious, yet we still get these 16:00 D1 types on here ragging on D3. We get it and your "contribution" is not necessary. Thread may continue.

I don't know what it is exactly. I heard she couldn't run for over two weeks and just started doing light workouts a week ago. Sucks; what bad timing. I wonder what she could have run if she was healthy the whole way through. Think she will run the steeple after running last night? That would be something, such a brutal race.
Looks like it will be a game time decision. I wonder what the illness is...

Pecora looked really really dominant in that steeple chase, do you think that makes him a threat to take the title in the 5000 later today? Looks like he came in 9th indoors, i would guess the steeple is his "event" but one must think if he can run an 8:51 in that manner that he could run at-least an 8:45 and thus at-least a 14:20 5k which would put him contention. That being said, the way Spain dominated indoors he will be very hard to beat.
What ever happened to allowing a kid celebrate when he wins a meet? I have followed Guarino as he is from around my area and never have seen something over the top. His classic celebration is the tugging of the jersey to show WHO he runs for... SUNY FREDONIA. He still recognizes he is part of a team. After every race, he still shakes his competitor\'s hands. Nick has the right to be confident because of what he has been able to accomplish. He is one of the best runners to ever run in DIII and don\'t be surprised if you see him in post-collegiate races. When it comes to his brother, Josh, he took a rough fall last night and got up eventually to finish. That shows a sign of maturity, as many would sit in disarray after a fall in the final race of their collegiate career. He got up, did not want to get lapped, and finished. To me, that shows true heart and props to him. So, how about we stop hating on kids that are working towards their ultimate dreams. The Guarino twins have the drive and determination to continue to better themselves for running.
Goodluck to Nick in your 800/1500 finals today. Run like you do.

Any input on the 5k? How do you think it will play out? Is Spain still the prohibitive favorite, a completely fresh Berube should be able to challenge for the title in my opinion, though he ran his fastest 5k this year in December.

I've got to wonder how fresh Spain is going to be feeling today. It definitely looked like he was going to the well in that 10k on Thursday. I'm picking Butzler for the win, but who knows really.
