He asked if Ithaca came in 6th, so I went down the results til I reached Ithaca.

I would like to know which race was RIT's home course... If you're talking about the Geneseo race at Letchworth, A) that's not RIT's home course and B) they didn't run their top 5 there.

If you mean the race at GVP that same year, it was A) U of R's race and B) RIT's top squad was out at Albany.

In either case they beat the B squad for RIT...

I noticed that to. Still, you can't make much of a case for the Regional results in this way. Also the fight scenario in this one was dead on.

How about, instead of arguing over which biased predictions are better, and who is or isn't running for certain teams. Why not just use the regional results from last year minus the seniors/transfers/dropouts, to determine what the basic outcome of this year should be? Idk about most of you but that seems pretty fair..or would that just suck to much fun out of this forum?

I am sick of hearing about Fredonia and RIT why dont they just race each other so we can crown this years regional champ early

I'll defend Hardbarger. Someone said that he has good mid-dist PRs but not 5k and 8k PRs. He has improved significantly since his last cross season (I believe it was fall of '08), and I don't think that there should be much question that he will be up front. Burdick has been shaky at best in cross all through college. He has talent, for sure, and maybe he'll pull it together for his last season. However, even if Hardbarger and Burdick run like they can, RITs 3-4-5 have some serious work to do. Other teams could easily put 7 in front of RITs 3-4-5 if they don't throw down some big PRs.

Hopefully, they can move up into the higher throng of SUNYAC teams and give the Cortlands, Geneseos, and Plattsburghs, and Fredonias out there a run for their money

Are you new around here? Since it is a "prediction" thread I think it might be fair to be allowed to perhaps "predict" what may happen... Or should we all just take another month off until someone finally races? The whole point of this thread is to argue, if you don't like what you see that's a bummer.

I think it's going to be a tight race for that 5th spot but I really don't see RIT doing it. When you are missing a solid 3-4-5 group (not that it isn't looking much better than last year) you'll simply lose too many points. I'm sure Hardburger and Burdick will have a good year but it takes more than just 2 people to make the team competitive. Fredonia or Ithaca? Makes more sense right now, Fredonia is much improved according to solid summer results and only loses one and Ithaca made a good case last year and is also having a good summer. I think it will be a battle between those two for the elusive 5th spot.

Am I missing something, didn't Ithaca lose Drew Hodge? Curt Bell? I thought someone stated these two were gone at the start of this thread which leads me to believe Ithaca will have to wait until they get a couple more All-Region runners to step up. If they did not graduate I apologize and believe they can battle for top 5.

Fredonia though is going to be one tough team people, they are going to be big time this year. You don't believe they have pixie dust do you? Well did you not see the SUNYAC 800 race! That was some pixie dust! Tom Williams made a big jump last fall and showed he can run with Heymann, Dubois etc at SUNYAC's and now Eddie will be up there!

Let's get real people, Eddie and Tom are not the best 1-2 in the region.

1) Dubois/ KOB (14:40ish 5k and 30:17 10k/ sub 9 steeple)

2) Heymann/ Yernye (14:24 and 30:15/ 15:04)

3) O'Connor/ Berube (14:54 and 15:04)

4) Ramsey/ Kip (14:50ish/ diverse)

5) I am sure NYU will have a better top 2 as well

6) Williams/ Novara (both 15:06, both behind the top 3 to 4 teams 1-2 punches 2nd man)

They don't even have a top 5 1-2, which is exactly where their team will finish, outside the top 5.

Tom did proved that he can run with heymann, dubois, and other top SUNYAC/Regionals runners....for the first part of the race. After that...well, BOOM!!!!!!!!! Eddie is a strong runner, ill give him that. He wasnt able to hold onto it at the end of track lets see if he can hold on to his fitness during xc. The goofy looking twins they have on their team are good but this is not the 800 or the steeplechase. Yea they had "pixy dust" in the 800 but this is an 8k. Its a little longer.

hes run 8:38 3k and 15:06 5k? he will be good but i think stermer should be one to watch out from their team. 8:41 indoors but he got injured. If he could have stayed healthy he may have run under 14:50 if he ran the 5k.

Someone said that Hodge will not be returning, I can't find anything about Bell but there might be something. I'm just getting that from what other people said though. If those two are both coming back then I believe that Ithaca will be better than both RIT and TCNJ, but still behind Plattsburgh and Fredonia. If only one of them is back then I'd put Ithaca with RIT and TCNJ. If neither are back, I'd put them at 9th or 10th in the region.
