is Bauhs gonna run willamette too?????
pre nats is this coming weekend anyone of note going?
You'll have to be content with Rono vs. Bauhs II because Anchorage isn't racing Willamette (unless their schedule is wrong online).
and is Scott racing again?
Why would the DBU guys post as themselves and post this nonsense. Apparently someone has something against this program, because if you knew these guys, you would know they wouldn't post this stuff.
According to Azusa's schedule they won't be at Willamette either.
Slippery Rock can drink with the best in the nation
Adams is going to win. That performance at griak was crazy.
adams will beat ACU

Agreed. The Adams women will beat ACU women.
The Adams men will choke again & lose to ACU men.
Harding vs. Abilene Christian this weekend @ Oklahoma State.
I hope both teams run a full squad.
That was an impressive performance by Adams. Adams usually gets fired up for these opportunities to take down the big boys. I would say Martin has one of his best teams ever---possibly better than the '91 team that perfect scored at the NCAA nationals (at Slippery Rock)---but the level of competition in DII these days makes that pretty much impossible to repeat.
It is possible to do some direct comparisons from the Southern Stampede to the Griak (Pitts St., Drury, SWB) and see that the Minnesota course was probably a bit slower than Missouri (take out the obvious aberrations---like the SWB #1 guy running a full minute faster at Griak)...maybe 11 or 12 seconds.
This would put Harding (running at Griak)
Kirwa 24:11
Biwott 24:31
Kosgei 24:52
Kern 25:09
Kopec 25:29
Cheruyiot 26:27
...and they score in the 120's. Adams would have theoretically dominated them...What does this mean? Nothing really, except that both teams are very good.
The Harding versus Abilene race at OSU this weekend should reveal even more. I would expect both teams to be gearing up for a strong performance against a field that includes
Oklahoma State and Northern Arizona (but no Arkansas this year).
you might be right about griak being a bit slower, but keep in mind, kirwa races with the leaders (including Biwott, and Kosgei) for about 5k-6k and then takes off. so it looks like his victories aren't quite that dominating on paper, but they really are phenomenol to watch (saw him at MSSU). with a faster race up front, he might run completely differently--but who knows. i guess we'll see this weekend.
Actually OSU Jamboree has an outstanding D2 field. More than just ACU vs Harding.
ACU
Harding
Mankato
NM Highlands
Missouri Southern
Central Missouri
All top 30 team (most likely) with Mankato (5th in '07), Highlands (10th in '07)and MSSU (12th in '07)it should be an eye opening race.
Absolutely...I did not mean to denigrate any of the other DII teams by talking only about Abilene and Harding. It is definitely a great DII field and should be a fast race. I'm alittle surprised to see Mankato racing at OSU after running at Griak--their website actually says they will be racing at South Dakota, but they did send entries to OSU, so who knows?
As for Kirwa and Harding---I agree completely about the time comparisons not meaning much versus what might happen in an actual race...
How about the CU Shootout? Some DII teams there as well. Mostly altitude schools though.
a couple of midwest region head to heads @ Louisville on Sat:
Findlay and Southern Indiana in the women's race,
Northen Kentuck and Southern Indiana in the men's.
I think Metro as well as Western are scheduled at the Shoot-Out...Mines will not race in their backyard as they prepare for the Pre-regional meet at Kearney.
Will Jen finally let the WSC horses out of the barn?
Metro races their top guys for the first time since the CU time trial on the same course...how much faster have they gotten?
The Shoot-Out will be the last nail to show that WSC is finished. The horses are gone and the barn has been ripped down.
what about slippery rocks home meet will anyone be there besides the hosts?
