A lot of that is staying out of other countries' affairs and not trying to push Western values / "values" on them. Some countries (especially in the Middle East) have a long, proud, and distinguished history of monarchies and we shouldn't try to force them to abandon their traditions. What we should focus on instead is mutually beneficial partnerships.
this is a trumper saying that the US should not push its values on people, even as trump takes over a sovereign foreign nation and threatens multiple more nations with a similar fate, including a NATO member.
WTF?
Obama took out Bin Laden and wasn't criticized for that. Capturing Maduro is similar. It's FAR better than Biden trying to use the full force of the US government to push gender or abortion crap in other countries.
just to point out a basic hypocrisy here, donald and his lawyers argued to the supreme court that heads of state have immunity while doing their job. or have we forgotten the "i could send seal team 6 to kill my opponent" discussion.

your argument is infantile whataboutism. OBL wasn't president of a country, he was a terrorist leader. international law is unfavorable to terrorists. and the war on terror was authorized by congress.
trump has contradicted himself what his excuse is, and even if he tried to paint this as an arrest raid, killed a bunch of civilians and military who were not defending the presidential palace after an arrest warrant was waved around. we then said we're taking over for at least a little while.
that sounds like war to me. that sounds like a bunch of contradictory excuses for a war. that was not authorized by congress nor can it be explained by any imminent threat under international law.
the problem with the "criminal indictment" theory is there is a 5 year statute of limitations for drug trafficking and most of the indictment is talking about things that happened 20-25 years ago. what if you arrest a president, appoint someone else, and it turns out the charges get tossed? this is why this is generally not done. you're not giving due process before deposing their leader.
also, amusingly, trump has spent recent years arguing heads of state are immune from charges.
i would assume the various explosions people heard were us taking out radar and SAM sites, air force bases, navy boats, intelligence. they didn't sign up for drug trafficking. they just showed up to work in service of another country with which we don't have a declared war. but if you kill them to do this operation, that sounds like war and not an arrest.
you don't get to blow up someone's neighbors or kill people you're not trying to arrest, to arrest someone else. not unless they are defending the guy's house and resist the warrant.

Watch the news once in awhile....They just released a superseading indictment....
Forgive this guy, he didn’t have an opportunity to learn a lesson from how Americans treat their afghan helpers and their families.
After Biden's withdrawal? The worst withdrawal of all time?
did you actually think that effectuating trump's surrender of afghanistan was ever going to come out better than the fall of saigon? y'all play pretend. it wasn't run great but there was always going to be a "last helicopter out of saigon" there.
the worst part is earlier this year trump ended special immigration status for afghans who fled their country on those planes. the taliban didn't suddenly become nice people.
for those not keeping track, Marco Rubio serves as secretary of state, national security adviser, head of the National Archives, and now the newly minted Grand Poobah of Venezuela

f*ck off, i just got through reading it.
there is like one event in 2022 involving some other dude.
i assume the argument will be maduro and the dude were in a conspiracy.
and you're not getting my basic point. when you depose a president based on supposed criminal charges, he doesn't get a trial before he loses his presidency, and he doesn't get his job back if a US court tosses his case afterwards.

This can't be a serious reply. Mental gymnastics all over the place. Cope harder
Im really struggling to find justification for this. Venezuelan regime bad, yes. Sanctions and embargoes ok. Seizing tankers a bit iffy but if sanctions being ignored then......
But open acts of war = bad.
Wtf. Palestine is an open threat to israel. Venezuela is not a threat to us.
Venezuela is a threat to the US. Billions of dollars of drugs are illegally entering the US from Venezuela per year. Cocaine, the drug predominately trafficked from there accounted for roughly 22,000 U.S. deaths in 2024.
Don't you guys in US have some kind of process to remove presidents from power if they go crazy. In the UK we had liz truss who only lasted a few months but here we vote in a party not a particular person so I think the party had power to remove her (or force her to resign).
Your leaders went plenty crazy all while the Mates sat there and took it. Went a little too crazy with Muh immigration, now big problems in the UK. Housing shortage. Healthcare system overloaded. Crime up. No go zones. The local Chippy will be a mosque soon. Shame. Our invasion was cancelled, November 2024. So sad. venezuela? Meh. 7-minute war. Over before the sky screamers woke up. Make venezuala great again citizens of venezuela. Go back to capitalism, socialism doesn't work. Never will. Don't come here, border secure. Catch and release is over.
