Camille Herron suing Canadian Runner magazine

this post made me dumber

It's a joke of a lawsuit. It looks to me like a pretty pathetic way to vent and little more. To start with, how can she sue a Canadian company in Arizona? But the structure of the "lawsuit" is crazy. Most of it is just random ranting about ways she thinks she's been wronged, that have nothing to do with the defendant.

I feel sorry for her that she feels the need for this. And I mostly blame Conor for pushing her buttons and building up the worldview that she's persecuted.

She reopened a can of worms. Her Wikipedia page has been edited quite a few times in the past few days after not being edited at all for nine months. A year ago, a lot of people had heard of her from the scandal because it was covered by a lot of media outlets and magazines. However, as of last week, probably 90% of the people who learned about her last year had already forgotten both her and the scandal. She is just throwing gasoline on the final few burning embers.

Oh, and Barrett Dahl registered my name so I couldn't post again. Sorry, Barrett, I'm still winning and you're still losing.

I get she’s a person with Autism and AD/HD. I’m a SPED teacher and we are trained to presume competence. What sort of accommodations would she need to compete in an athletic event when she has already won so many before playing the disabled card? Is the USATF an employer that need La to provide accommodations? She mentions she’s expected to “fit in”. Nobody is forcing her to compete.

Let's not forget that she fractured her wrist a couple days ago.
This is just another way of finding a excuse to be the victim.

Breaking her wrist has nothing to do with her legal claim.

Back in the early 90s, an Asian man filed a suit in alameda county california because someine called him a sIant. The suit was thrown out because it did not negatively effect him financially. Just emotionally.

I have strong reason to believe that Amy bearfoot is the individual who started the lrc thread last year on camille and kept bumping it in order to promote their news article and get camilles sponsor to drop her. To me there is obvious evidence there that an individual acted in an unprofessional manner, outside the role of journalism, in order to grind an axe against camille. Therefore, camille is entitled to damages.

I wouldn't be approaching every person in the world and saying "hi. Im coach dahl. I have autism. Nice to meet you". I mean, I do carry a card around to give to police officers when they start pulling their crap on me and saying they dont understand my facial expressions, etc. I give them a card that says im mentally disabled simply so they dont shoot me to death. I really dont have a choice.

I was unaware that camille and Connor lived in Arizona. I thought they lived in an RV and just cruised around to different KOA locations.

Laying the groundwork for excuses when she drops early again, AND for filing SafeSport complaints about team management.

I see her Wikipedia page says she has the IAU 24-hour WR. This is not true; Miho Nakata broke it at Worlds in Taipei in 2023. That result is now ratified. As an anonymous poster I can't post a link, but search for IAU World Records.

It also claims the 6-day WR. Technically true, but two superior performances are currently under ratification at IAU; certainly at least one of them will be ratified. Her 48-hour WR has also been beaten, but that performance is unlikely to be ratified.

As an outsider, after having read both sides and seeing her posts and blogs, it sounds like Camille has found a new way to bully. This time by using her autism diagnosis as a weapon against anyone who dares stand up to her.

As a person on the ASD spectrum myself, I find this very sad to see and would like others to note that she is a troubled individual, not a representative of all those on the spectrum.

I highly doubt camille has ever bullied anyone in her entire lifetime.

She does have a high sense of self importance, which could signify narcissist personality disorder. All conpetitive runners have a SLIGHT bit of this, but not to a point where its pathological.

When was the last time camille raced?

Courtney Dewalter recently hopped in a "regular length" marathon and I believe won the entire thing.

It wouldn't hurt camille to do some other races and get everyone's focus off her extracurricular gossip. Why is it only spartathon, western states, or let's rant about stuff I did 10 years ago?
