Since MAGA is pressuring sports teams to have moments of silence, perhaps there will be a moment of silence at every MLB game for Robert Redford, who might have acted the best lead role of a baseball player ever. Who hasn't seen the Natural and wanted to go to the ballpark? It's an American classic. Sure, his politics may not align with the right, but he was a helluva actor.
More of this content. Thank you!
Actually, there was an assassination attempt in The Natural. Not as wholesome as I initially remembered.
An attempted murder of an athlete is not an assassination attempt. That is reserved for political figures.
Thinking back on it (it's been many years), what exactly was the motive for Ray Hobbs getting shot? Simple robbery? Revenge for embarassing the Whammer?
Have they decided what the motive was yet for Kirk's murder?
Robinson is due in court this morning (mountain time) and the charging instrument should have more information about the case against him.
An interesting theory about the motive is that it may have been a Selena/John Lennon sort of fan obsession. That is probably more realistic than furry/antifa gamer subculture.
Why deny the most obvious explanation....Robinson was a gay leftist with a trans lover and didn't like Kirk's views on that subject and many others...
Amazing the lack of reasoning ability among your ilk...

The one thing they do well is excuse making. Roy never met an excuse for liberal fails that he hasn’t embraced.
your employer can make you do things or fire you (like take a vaccine or not post dumb stuff on social media)
Interesting….
Hold on... Not doing something is dramatically different than doing something. I don't think you can lump the two things together. For instance, firing someone for not paying condolences to Kirk's family, for instance, would be wrong. That is more aligned with not baking a cake or not taking an experimental vaccine (though I am pro vaccine, for the record).
Compelled speech is always wrong. Staying quiet is not wrong.
Posting offensive content on social media is a different ballgame, entirely. I am actually surprised so many of you leftists are defending these actions. They are wrong. Political violence is always wrong. Always wrong.

Refusal to speak (or bake) can convey information just like choosing to speak.
The point is that employers can make rules of employment. That may be “keep current on vaccines” or “don’t cheer death on social media.”
Employers are either allowed to make rules or not. It seems Trumpers are back in the “they can make rules” camp.

Then again every child what a woman is yet here we are with a Supreme Court judge being completely flummoxed by the question. Something something... collective delusions.....

I am not a Trumper so I wouldn't know what camp they're in, but I remain steadfast in my belief that compelled speech is always wrong. Not doing something is very different than doing something, regardless of what information it conveys.
Also, I don't think that Trumpers were as upset about the ability to fire people for refusing the COVID vaccine as they were at the decision to fire people for refusing the vaccine. There is a difference there. I think you can admit that, right?
FWIW, this is an honest attempt at discussion. I am not interested in sh-tposting at you.

Trump: A woman is someone that can have a baby under certain circumstances. A woman is a person who is much smarter than a man, I’ve always found.
I think the debate with Kamala proved his second point.

I agree compelled speech is always wrong. I find it amusing that many on the right are now rallying behind their version of “bake the cake.”
I think private corporations can make rules of employment. In theory, and especially under economics principles conservatives tend to favor, market forces should punish firms that make onerous or unpopular rules of employment.
The primary complaint from Trumpers around the vaccines in this regard seems to be that they were coerced. If we call any rule of employment coercion then sure. But that means these people fired for talking about Kirk were (unsuccessfully) coerced as well.

I don't agree with your response but I appreciate you responding. Not much more to say other than I appreciate the dialogue.
