If the claim is being made that Almgren is only faster over certain distances than Ingebrigtsen because he has trained for those distances then the same thing can be claimed about Ingebrigtsen: he is faster than Almgren over other distances because he has trained for those distances. Indeed the excuse for Ingebrigtsen's poor showing over the HM is because he wasn't trained for the distance.
Specialisation is a poor argument for explaining why Almgren has superior times to Ingebrigtsen over certain distances; the argument cuts both ways.
I have followed the career of my countryman Almgren over a decade now. He has faster times than Jakob at 400m and 800m . Actually the right answer to why Jakob has faster times at 1500m - 3000m than Andreas so far is that Jakob has so far specialised at 1500m- 5000m and Andreas 5000m- half marathon.
We can go back to the 90s, with Haile Gebrselassie running a faster 5000 than Farah in 1995 and Paul Tergat running a faster half marathon than Farah in 1998. Did they have better shoes and training than Farah did? Or were Alberto Salazars drugs not up to par compared to what they were serving in the 90s?
I've forgotten what you are talking about. It no longer interests me.
When your ignorance is exposed you run away with your tail between your legs.

You have just effectively endorsed what I was saying above. It will not however be a popular argument amongst the Ingebrigtsen fans.

I'm happy to remind you, you're claiming you can't compare Farahs times to current runners today, which is a stupid argument when guys in the 90s were running faster than what Farah did.
Why are you arguing about a sport you don't follow?

Don't say that bro, I guess the Ingebrigtsen fans will be delighted to see Jakob have great potential to reach his running lifegoals to hold the world records at 1500/ mile/ 3000m ( wr now) / 5000m/ 10000m / half and marathon before he quit running. Almgren really seem to have potential to thretten the world records at 5000m/ 10000m/ half and marathon. Thrilling future! 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

I'm not arguing that; I am discussing Almgren. You are still boring.

No he hasn't, dumbo. You can't read.
He said this.

So he is saying they are better than the other at the distances mentioned because they both have specialised at those distances. That is what I identified as an argument that can apply to both runners - whether or not one might agree with it.
We need to have a conversation soon about where Almgren ranks all time in the conversation about runners with the greatest range.
Only runner in history to run sub 1:46 in the 800 and sub 27 in the 10 000, and now he's smashed the European half marathon record by 30 seconds and is the only white guy in the top 90 or so on the all time half marathon list.
800 - 1:45.59
1500 - 3:32.00
3000 - 7:31.42
5000 - 12:44, European record
10 000 - 26:52, Worlds bronze medalist
10k road - 26:53, European record
Half marathon - 58:41, European record
What time would he have to run in the marathon for there to be no discussion about the greatest range, at least on the mens side? I'd put him there if he beats the European record in the marathon, but that's going to be a difficult task.

Yes, Almgren is a super interesting range athlete. And I agree that a good marathon time will do a lot…
Augustine Choge is another one who comes to mind range wise: 1.44.86/3.29.47/7.28.00/12.53.66/28.22/59.26/2.20.53 (NYC) -better in the 800/1500/3000m, and for some reason weak in the 10000m, but a strong HM (especially “shoe wise” -Febr 2017).
And of course Almgren’s training mate Jakob: 1.46.44/3.26.73/7.17/12.48/27.27 (not approved)/63.13.
Choge is retired, and his marathon PB is too weak (well, of course worth a cut of some minutes in a faster course), but his 800m extraordinary… Saying that, I think AA can better his own PRs significantly in the 1500/3000m, and also 10000m/HM. -That, + a sub 2.10 marathon will do it I think…
Against Jakob: Range wise I would add Almgren’s 400m PR (48.33/48.38 indoors!) that I think Jakob never can match, and one could also mention 22.88/11.65 as extraordinary sprint times for a long distance guy. In the 800m we don’t know Jakob’s real ability -maybe something around the Swede’s PR, or even better..? Jakob’s capability time wise in the 5/10k/HM/marathon is of course also unknown -but for now I have a hard time to see the Norwegian beating the Swede in the three latter. But who knows? -Yes, I too would go for Almgren as the clearest range candidate…
