The 30:50 is a tough one. That might stand for a while.

Geez, is the standard seriously 30:20? That is NUTS
Only four US women in history have hit that time.
All-time US List
1) 30:03.82 Monson (2023)
2) 30:13.17 Huddle (2016)
3) 30:14.66 Cranny (2022)
4) 30:18.05 Schweizer (2022)
5) 30:22.22 Flanagan (2008)

Yes they will have to try again, or rely on the World Ranking System to get them in.
Looking back you have to ask yourself what the leading 3 at the start were thinking. A more modest 15:17 at 5k might've served everyone much better.
Why are these races so late at night? It’s not good for the body to be running so late. These runners should be in bed by now.
Not quite the winning time we were expecting.
However.
7 women under 31-flat is a new The TEN record (5 in 2023, 4 in 2024).

Because it is cooler and calmer at night

They want the American record and sub-30. Why does Kelati or Cranny need to run 30:25? What does that do for them?
Commentator already questionable. "A who's who" of US 10,000 running without Fisher, Young, or Kincaid?
Ok, men's Tokyo races on.
64s = 26:40 pace through 1600.
The live results say Bekele just ran a 73 opening lap. Is that right? what happened?
not sure why Drew is 4 seconds back at 1600
Another notable DNS: Casey Clinger/BYU.
Pretty sure saw two runners running down the homestretch as the race started. Not sure what just happened

He stated in yesterday's Flotrack interview he will not go with the leaders. Rather, start off slower then wind it up as the race goes on. Believes that is his best racing style.

Lights are 27 flat pace, which they are running. 65s
Starter started race while bekele was 100 meters away from start like finishing a stride 🙄
Did they start the race before everyone was on the start line? Bekele running a 73 second lap and then running 63s indicates more than just a fall.
Edit: Okay the post above answered my question, and the commentator mentioned it too. That’s just terrible.
WTF how does that happen

Just a guess, but they may have been Bekele & Maggard who got left behind at the gun.
May explain Bekele's opening 73 and Maggard's opening 84 (DNF'd at 3200).
