You are looking at Newsom the way a Republican would look at him. You have to set that aside and think what a Democrat sees when that guy is on TV. Remember, thousands of people voted for Harris and she's possibly the worst political candidate to ever run for the office on a major party ticket.
He is basically every thing that Harris was not. He is articulate, he is smart, he's quick on his feet. He gives off the vibe that he could handle a situation, should something serious arise. He has that amazing hair.

There won't be a "Blue wave" in our lifetime. You don't go from 54% of Americans not being able to read above a 6th grade level to wide support for progressive policies. If dems can appeal to some of this group - as well as reluctant voters (Those who stay home unless they feel super energized) we might get a small democratic majority.
