i am not the poster you're referring to, but considering Chebet's last 800 in the Olympic 5000 was ~2:01.1 and she won easily, I can't blame them for thinking she could potentially break 1:57.

But if she can regularly get in a 1500m with the very best (Kipyegon), then she might be able to hit the rail early, aka Jess Hull, and get pulled to the American record. Hull, Muir (and now Georgia Bell) get a lot of those types of opportunities.

The point I tried to make in my deleted post (thanks mods) is that unlike Kipyegon, running with WR incentive in a somewhat exciting Diamond League atmosphere, in the evening, with pace lights and a booming sound system, Wiley was instead out there soloing in an obscure meet.
Today she bested the 1000m times of Jemma Reekie and Mary Mora at the recently packed Diamond League meet in Silesia. (But obviously, she does not yet have the much more extensive racing experience in those venues.)
