Her still-unbroken world 800 meter record was set earlier that same Summer, in Munich. And despite widespread allegations due to her times and mesomorphic physique, she was never "subsequently disqualified for doping."

If the 800 counts, it is hard to top David Mack since he is one of the most hated criminals in US history. His story was the inspiration for The Shield, the most violent police drama of all time.

And She quits in her prime to pursue a running career that never takes off. She could have continued to dominate triathalon and probably have won another olympic title had she stayed.
