With the cross-country season underway in some states, what better time to release the COROS Milesplit50. Check out the top 25 girls XC teams in the country!
Is it just me or have Speed Ratings been generous this year to start?
Strava was 3.04 and a flat course. a bunch of turns though.
150 speed rating is way off considering Macy Wingard got a 138 for Coach T and a better racer and race than Katelyn. I would say Great Bend is about 20 off on the speed rating.
Flower Mound Remains No. 1 Despite Graduating Bulk Of Last Year's Regional Championship TeamBy Doug Binder, DyeStat EditorGirls NXR South PreviewFlower Mound of Lewisville, Texas has become a national power in the post-pandem...
Webb School of Knoxville is serious this year. The Garmers have officially seized possession of the title of Best Twins in the Country after the Humphries graduated. 17:28 and 17:33 at the Norris Dam Invitational this weekend and they arent even the best on the team. reminds me a bit of the Cook/Humphries/Humphries days for Flower Mound. although Caroline Areheart is no Natalie Cook. but she still wins races and gets 1 point. 6 under 20. 8 under 21. dont overlook them this year.
I think more impressive was looking at the team's overall results. 13 girls went under 20min. 5 of those under 19 and 2 of those under 18. That is missing one key girl, Brandt, who didn't race (unknown reasons). How do other teams compare to that?

It's always hard to rank teams based on last year, but IMHO Mountain Vista's top 5 is definitely better than Air Academy's. Any injuries at MV will reveal that AA's depth is superior, but my money is on MV to win NXN.
With the transfer of Guilfoile, Trabuco is solid, but not sure they deserve to be top 5 in the Country already. They may end up there, regardless. All 4 of the top So Cal schools were 1 runner short. Since Trabuco filled that spot, I agree that they should get the nod, especially after Ventura and J Serra's transfers both fell through. Santiago's class of 2025 depth may reveal someone to fill the void from within, but their top 2 are only 2nd best to Timpview's 1-2 punch. Even without a solid #5, Ventura and Santiago are both better than Gibbons, but someone probably didn't like the look of all top 8 being from CA and CO, I'm sure. ...and how does Milesplit not know about Summer Wilson leaving JSerra? They're still very good, but not top 10 without their standout #1.
Buchanan is so deep and are definitely the favorite in the CA race with everyone returning and solid new freshmen, but CO's top 3 are all going to be tough for any CA team to beat after an entire season at altitude.

It's not a hill i'm willing to die on by any stretch but i think you are underestimating Cardinal Gibbons. The milesplit article noted that all of their top 5 returns from last year, but doesn't mention that they've added a freshman in Kaitlyn Estep who is sub-18 and is already running closely behind their #1 Hannah Rae Shaffer and 2nd on the team. She ran 2:11/4:49/10:39 for 8/16/32 in 8th grade last spring.
