I'm trying something new guys. Heres a poem
In days of yore, when shadows long
Did stretch across the verdant glade,
A man named Gabe, both stout and strong,
With heart ablaze, and spirit unafraid.
His loyal hound, named Roy, did stand,
A creature fierce, with eyes of flame,
Together bound, through fate’s harsh hand,
To seek their fortune, make their name.
From distant hills, where wild winds wail,
They heard the call of foes amassed,
A bitter strife, a woeful tale,
Of wrongs unrighted, memories cast.
“Come, Roy!” quoth Gabe, with sword in hand,
“Let not our honor lie in shame,
We’ll cross the river, o’er the sand,
And smite the hearts of those who claim.”
The river wide, with waters deep,
Did roar and crash ‘neath twilight’s veil,
Yet undeterred, they would not weep,
For courage brewed within the pale.
With step resolute, they pressed ahead,
Through thickets dense and shadows cast,
By fate and fortune, their spirits fed,
Determined to avenge the past.
The moonlight glimmered on the stream,
A silver path to battles bold,
With every breath, they shared a dream,
To vanquish foes, their story told.
Then Roy, the hound, with snout held high,
Did sniff the air, as dangers near,
With growls that echoed ‘neath the sky,
He sensed the foe, their hearts of fear.
“Onward, dear friend!” cried Gabe, aflame,
“Let courage guide us through the night,
For we shall carve upon the name,
A legacy of strength and right.”
Upon the banks, the enemies lay,
In darkened throngs, their laughter rang,
Yet Gabe and Roy, with hearts of gray,
Would hush their mirth, their jesting slang.
“Draw forth thy swords!” brave Gabe did shout,
“Let not thy spirits waver now!
For by my side, there’s none in doubt,
We stand united, here and how!”
With bated breath, they surged the shore,
A tempest fierce, with wrathful might,
The river’s roar, their battle’s score,
As foes did scatter, lost in fright.
From morn till eve, the clash rang loud,
The clash of steel, the battle's cry,
With Roy beside, both fierce and proud,
They fought as one, ‘neath darkened sky.
Through blood and sweat, they carved their path,
With every swing, a tale was spun,
For justice, honor, and fierce wrath,
Would guide their hands until they’d won.
And when at last the dusk did fall,
The river glowed with sunset’s fire,
Gabe stood tall, amidst the thrall,
As victory sang, and hearts soared higher.
“Together, Roy, we’ve faced the dread,
Our foes lie scattered, hopes laid low,
With bonds of trust and courage fed,
We’ve crossed the river, vanquished woe.”
So sing, dear bards, of Gabe and Roy,
In taverns bright, their tale resounds,
Of valor true, and hearts of joy,
In echoes grand, their legend bounds.
And though the years like rivers flow,
Their names shall live, forevermore,
For in that fight, with hearts aglow,
They crossed the river, and won the war.
