Markstrom also ran a 10.8 100m in the same meet. Can you ever, even nation wide, think of anyone who has run a 10.8 100m and a 1:55 800m in the same meet?
It was a crazy race, the pack never separated, a lot of bumping within the pack. Numerous different leaders during the race. Haerter didn't lead until the last 50M. The top 10 runners all finished within 2 seconds of each other and no one could break 4:20.
Gullickson is making her way back to where she was a year ago. She and teammate Golomb went 1&2 in the girls 3200 at the true team state meet
Imagine if the Trojans could get Golomb out for XC this Fall. I know she hasn’t run XC since 7th grade, but she clearly has both speed & endurance. She’s one of the top Nordic skiers during the H.S. Skiing season.
Picture a healthy Maddie Gullickson back, Jazleen M-O, Lila Golomb, Aly Kleyman, Aubrey Smith, Miley Clark, Chloe Kissell, and Julia Link all on the squad this Fall. They would actually have an overabundance of top-7 capable runners available. They won Griak, State, and NXR Heartland last Fall, and they would be even stronger than last year!
Where are all the Top MN runners competing at College next year? Mechura recently committed to UNC, and both Scott and Sutter are going to the Gophers. I believe Eli Hall and Cade Sanvik are going to SDSU and Hootie is running at Bethel. What about the others? Kissel, Herring, Vos, Just, Santiago, Anderson, Layton? Most of these Seniors have probably committed at this point. Not sure if Weber or any of the other Juniors outside of Mechura have committed yet?
Schmitz to the Gophers as well. Will be interesting to see if she runs the 800 at state
Santiago to Chicago Loyola, Layton to UWLAX, Hering to MIT

Older Hering is running and studying at MIT next year. Younger Hering is running at Hopkins for three more years, and that’s very good news for us!
