Why wouldn't the Kranicks confront this creep if they knew this had been going on for years?
Based on this video and the incidents like the 1989 and the 2012 incident, Saratoga girls program has got to be the biggest inferno of all the programs in the country

Nothing illegal about filming people in public. Can't do anything about it. Just look at the paparazzi in this country. However, they helped prevent an abduction of a member of the team and he ultimately got 12 years in prison.
Looks like there is a lawsuit being brought against the Saratoga girls cross country coaches along with the girls soccer and lacrosse program although it seems like most of the lawsuit is focused on the cross country team:

Based on the donations and the comments, I would say that Art and Linda have positively impacted a lot of people through the years. Baseless is a word that comes to mind for this trashing of them. /thread
here's a chaser. Found this on Facebook, nearly 20 years old. read some of the comments on it. Some are silly, and some are more serious.
"oh art and Linda making everyone miserable for your own success"
"i like that this group is dedicated to EVERYONE who has ever crossed paths with them. it's like a support group for post-traumatic stress."
"art kranick is the only one who could make a tough kid like N.G. cry"
lets see it all started in 7th grade everyone knows that he cant teach science.. then there was the whole your not injured run it off... then that really annoying voice screaming pick it up.. but ide have to say that if were were a non distance runner u were on their bad side 99.9% of the time so pretty much if ur still on the team at saratoga high.. well that sucks stick with kearns or spackman good luck"
"It upsets me that Art Kranick is teaching gym at Caroline St. (ups for 2nd graders). For all of you who went there and remember Coach its ridiculous"
Plenty of abusers have people who will support them. That doesn't mean they should not be held accountable for the people they hurt.
“yes... yes i had art for 7th grade science..... i told him track wasnt a sport.... and well.... we all know how this one ended up.... long story short i didnt get into earth science and here i am on the side of a street homeless life ruined... all i have his this lap top so i can go on facebook...”
I feel bad for this guy. Maybe he should have been put in a science class with a different teacher
“The Kranicks hold practice 365 days a year. On Sundays and throughout the summer, when high schoolers are banned to attend official athletic practices, the Kranicks coordinate runs and workouts for people of all ages under the Kinetic Running Club. It’s optional, but kids show up.”
Kelsey Chmiel did very well in college. 3rd at nationals can’t be that bad
You point out a single athlete. The vast majority flame out very early in college, if they make it that far.
If by "flame out" you mean "come to the realization that their college coach/program isn't like high school," you are correct. A handful of my former teammates just flat out quit (though Greg Kiley actually returned to the sport after enrolling in UAlbany for grad school...I believe he PRed during his year there), and I remember one telling me about how most of his college teammates thought that the college program was really structured and he thought the exact opposite.
Plus there are a few mind tricks that Saratoga runners in particular have to deal with that I wouldn't necessarily call "flaming out". People give you some special attention in your early years of college because they want to see if you can still improve, you want to give yourself special attention because after running for Saratoga you have some doubts about whether your new coach/program's training is as effective as the Kranicks' training was (particularly if you know you're not going to a good running school), etc.

I should elaborate a little on why they quit: they didn't like their college coach.
Even after this, Saratoga was still able to get third at both sections and Feds, with a team of basically 8th and 9th graders, and with all of their low sticks graduated. Very legendary
Saratoga had no female runners competing at indoor state yesterday. Just a high jumper, as well as some half-decent boys. Are the Kranicks still coaching? Is the program dead?

Well the girls distance squad graduated all of their low sticks last year (Bush, Hart, Belisle). This year they don’t have a standout front runner. but pretty much their whole varsity is 8th and 9th graders, so maybe they will be great again sometime in the future

Funny how the news said it isn’t illegal to film someone so we won’t give the persons name…., why didn’t they walk up to him in public with a camera and ask him questions? If it’s not illegal they could easily expose him on the news

And Saratoga will likely be gone in a couple years. After all the talent the Kranicks produced graduate the program will be dead.
Can we assume the extremity of the allegations against the Kranicks to disqualify them as some of the best coaches in the history of HS XC? None of the other top programs have ever had accusations this harsh leveled against them.
