Time to stop any conversation about the best American distance runner. It's Grant by a country mile.
he looked great, and 12:54 is a great time off the bench. lots of work to do if he wants to be up there at a championship race, but definitely the USAs greatest hope at 5k right now.
Yeah, some work to do, although he was right on Barega, who is a contender year after year, so not much. Grant should be in the hunt in either event if he's healthy.
And now Fisher's talent is even more clear. He's the only one who has shown any resemblene of Rupp since he left the track. In contention for medals and might grab one one day.
Fisher is the best NA runner still, I feel this injury cost him a medal this year
Kejelcha has no idea how to peak, not sure what his coach is doing
The 5,000 was 5 days ago, it doesn't have anything to do with peaking incorrectly. He just has no guts in championship races and didn't run to his strengths
What are you smoking. None of the guys you mentioned will run close to those times.
You were saying?
Id say low 3:30 and a DL win for Nuguse over Kerr and a sub 12:55 clocking for Fisher in his first race back is pretty close to my prediction. Hocker 3:31 - decent but not great.

3:30 is not close to sub-3:28. Hocker's 3:32 is not close to 3:29 either.
Grant Fisher another runner showing the power of cross training.
if you feel something coming on, get on the damn elliptical (or whatever x training is ideal for your situation). You will remain fit, and you won't be injured!
Another month of running on the ground, maybe he can stay on Kejelcha.

You’re handing this to Fisher over Luis because of a 1 second victory today? Luis just got 4th in the brutal heat of Budapest while Grant was relaxing. I think it’s an open question going forward, Grijalva vs Fisher at 5000.
Interesting he raced as I think he was safe to get in the DL final. Assuming scratches from Kiplimo, Girma, Klecker and Cheptegei we should get Grant in Eugene as well as Krop

3:30.49 is not even remotely close to 3:27.99
and you know damn well Kerr wanted to prove he wasn't just "next man up"
that will stick in his craw, even if he won't admit it.
