She just outkicked Athing Mu and Cory McGee....as a college freshman. Outstanding turnover. 42.3 last 300, 58.7 last lap
Sorry, but Mia Brahe-Pederson is the real superstar!
This is going to be an unpopular opinion. I don't think Mia will improve post high school. Her build isn't in her favor. A few years ago a great long jumper went to Iowa State named Kate Hall. She jumped 22-6 indoors for the high school record. I don't think she has cleared 22 feet since then.
there are dozens of coaches at USATF championships RIGHT NOW that have 100x more connections to doping than Johnson, so where is your righteous outrage there?
Yes Coach Johnson is sketchy but from a pure doping perspective, they aren't in the top 30 of suspicious coaches at this meet.
There are HUNDREDS of athletes at this meet that are far more suspicious than Wiley, including some that have served drug bans already.
Even the announcers have SERIOUS connections to doping.
It is clear that every one diminishing Wiley's performances have no true interest in cleaning up the sport - as they are silent about the other athletes, coaches, and announcers. They just have a weird, creepy, personal obsession and personal vendetta against Wiley. Most likely because of jealousy.
A whataboutism post. Truly, taking a serious doping/abuse scandal seriously is a vendetta sparked by jealousy. Anyway, of these dozens of other alleged nefarious characters, how many of them are (a) currently the subject of a mutiparty federal lawsuit, (b) currently facing criminal conviction, (c) have neen publicly called out by a number of recent former athletes for doping their athletes, to the point of asking to get their results expunged, (d) are accused of doping and abusing college athletes, and (e) are still shadow coaching after allegedly being banned? Your defense is that we should not pay attention to such a blatant public doping scandal because "everyone dopes". But even if true, you have to call it out when it is this brazen. Odd argument to accuse others of not caring about doping while acting as an apologist for the most overt scandal going. Oh and the bold type was a nice touch.

I believe it’s perfectly reasonable to assume some of these current top girl high school athletes running really fast distance times are doing it with “help”.
some drop ridiculous times that were abnormally inconsistent with their year/season prior, some disappear for a while, some need it to keep their times from 9th grade fast…parents will sign on for anything nowadays when it comes to the allure of big corporate bucks - plus anything goes - high school doesn’t test

I think Mia ends up the same way.
Mia is still developing and is very young and we really have no idea what she’s going to look like in a few years. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she gets stronger and improves.
On the topic of this thread - it is all getting settled today. Wiley qualifies and this thread stays active or she misses out and the thread sinks in the standings. I would like to see her advance but do so without all of hubbub.
