I really don't get Mu and her coach. Talking about 1500m when she has (had?) that kind of speed?
What she should do is to concentrate on getting the US record in 400m and see how well she can do as a 400m runner before she further on torturing herself with 800m, or even worse, with 1500m.
That is another reason why it is so impressive that Mondo Duplantis is so consistently outstanding.
Mondo is a man while SML is a woman. You must always bear this in mind, I hope you know what I mean. Also long-term form for field and track these are two different things.

If you are referencing the effect of the menstrual cycle on elite sporting performance then yes that is an under recognised factor that has not had enough high level study.

You might be on to something. Have you considered reaching out to Bob Kersee directly and sharing your insights with him? I'm sure he'd appreciate your input greatly!
Too late in the season for women not to be running faster that 11.00. I was expecting at least a 10.9
Hobbs has been very consistent all year, which imo is a bad thing. Her basic SB’s came early in the year in LA, 10.96/10.97 basic, then drifted up to 10.99/11.00, now up to 11.02/11.04
Although very consistent, the trend is backwards. She shows no sign of being able to bust one out…but I do think that she is good at rounds, which will count for a lot. Maybe she really is training for WC, so who knows.
Times-wise, it’s an interesting year. In the US, really only SCR has gone ballistic. Internationally, with SAFP and ETH not around, we have SCR, Jackson, Ta Lou, and Alfred who seem to be a cut above.
Steiner had some good sustained action, but I still think she’s low on her energy output, for whatever reason. Solve that and she’s better, but the times…. She has a long way to go, imo. She did mention that they are working on her arm action, which is good to hear. Is she going to try the 4 at nats?
Prandini…seemingly mo relaxation whatsoever. Tying up like that in a 2? R U kidding me? Come on. She is a seasoned professional, but that was high school-level sprinting. She is in disarray, although MAYBE they can use her on a relay bend again in the rounds, who knows.

I'm positive that I know more about 800m training than Kersee, as I used to run 800m as my main distance. Kersee is going to make Mu quit running altogether.
It's pretty hard to celebrate the "superstar" SML, when she only beat Mu's PB by 0.06s. And Mu was 18 when she ran it.
Steiner had a strong finish and went right past Prandini in the last 100 meters.
Prandini -22.51… not very good time for her.
Steiner- 22.19… her best legal time this year, but its late June and she is still not close to getting under 22……… not injured, so guess shes just pacing herself for peak performance later? We’ll see if it works.
While Keni Harrison seems to benefit from Kersee's training in the hurdles, Prandini doesn't appear to be doing so.

Hobbs has never impressed me at the 100M. I do not expect her to ever be in the 10.7 range consistently which is where she needs to be. I view her somewhat akin to Mike Rogers, i.e. a filler who is always there. So far this season, only Richardson, Tamari Davis and Shawnti Jackson have impressed me. It will be interesting to see what shakes out at nationals.
Jackson is solid. There is something strange going on with Ta'Lou. She seems to be doing a SAFP/Gatlin where you become faster the older you become when you should be slowing down. Very strange...
Alfred was the queen of the NCAA, sprint scene sure, I just am not impressed with her. Perhaps it's her chuncky running mechanics... I'll wait to see what she produces at Worlds.

I've softened my position on Bob Kersee. I felt that he was dirty and I expected Prandini, who at 30 and no championship ind. finals that I know of would suddenly start running 21.6's and 7's. But it hasn't happened so maybe he is clean although the FloJo and Hooks cases are still leaving room for doubt. What I think is Kersee is just an opportunist who only takes on athletes who are already elite and merely uses normal training and let's their natural progression do the rest. He's no magician, sort of like a father who takes credit for his kid's adult success when it was the kid's talent that got him that far.
