Yea have been fascinated to why someone who is a billionaire would go down 2 1/2 miles underneath the surface of the ocean in a little tube controlled by a remote from a play station. You can’t know you wouldn’t also do post-hoc stupid things if you could afford it. A billionaire might pay $120K for a banana taped to the wall just coz there aren’t that many satisfying options to “live” extreme wealth before dying with it.

Hindsight is 20/20. You can’t honestly know you wouldn’t make similar choices if you were as wealthy.
I can absolutely say with 100% confidence that I would not spend $500,000 to go into a homemade sub made from parts from Camper World and Best Buy, no matter how wealthy I was.
