I have watched videos of the two trans kids...and obviously feel bad for them knowing their life can't be easy.
My daughter has asked me about this in the past and I have assured her that it wouldn't affect her. Now she's going to have to line up in a prelim on California's biggest stage against one of them...and hopefully she'll make the final (and then face both of them).
But these kids are getting faster and this problem is not going away.
Things like this could cost scholarships. Big championships are where athletes can land on the radar of college recruiters. In the bigger picture, when will all of our entitlement and accommodation in the US finally have a line drawn? You really love standing on a moral high horse, but you don't seem to understand that "misgendering" is a moral slight only within a niche, highly-privileged ideological community. Some people belong to religious groups within which using preferred pronouns is heresy. Others ground their morals and ethics in a secular framework but believe that preferred pronouns are harmful because they are not truthful. Even if one believes it is appropriate and morally-right to use self-identified pronouns that do not correspond with one's biological sex, forcing people to adopt other people's idiosyncratic moral frameworks is antithetical to a free and open society. It's totalitarian.
Lastly, Linda Blade is not putting words in Adeline's mouth. She's making an inference about her situation based on a widely-circulated video and the facts of the situation. Way back when we had a shared reality, people could talk about other people and their situations without being accused of "speaking for" others. We all understood that people are speaking for themselves. When speaking at all about anybody other than the self is taken to mean speaking for that person, we wind up in a situation where people can only speak about themselves. Logically, this can only lead to narcissism, which is pretty much where our culture is. Note: only in a narcissistic culture would people belive it is possible and necessary for individuals to demand that others/society view them precisely the way they want to be viewed.

Yes, Linda Blade aka Spenst-Blade is a champion of women's sports. And a champion of sports in general. She also has served as great ambassador for track & field on the international scene over many decades.
But of course you sneer at her in contempt. Because Blade is female, she knows what she's talking about, and she doesn't share your misogynistic, male supremacist view that certain males must be allowed to compete in girls' and women's sports if they meet two conditions:
1) they make certain claims about their inner "gender identities" and feelings;
2) certain aspects of their outward appearance conform to the narrow set of regressively sexist and superficial sex stereotypes of "femininity" that sexists associate with girls and women. Which as another male poster - I think it was Aztec - said earlier, boils down to basically nothing more than long hair, breasts and makeup.

It's not stressful at all for the kids right now. They are thinking about own race and not this story. If the rules need to change they need to change and it needs to be worked on for next year. Showing up in the stadium and causing an issue isn't going to help the girls that are in the race.
A testosterone cut off is completely unnecessary if male bodies are simply not allowed in girls' and women's competitions. Once males have been through puberty, they can never completely get rid of all of the benefits of male puberty. It's not possible. Their hearts and lungs aren't going to shrink, and their hip and knee joints aren't going to suddenly change shape.
The peaceful protest needs to come from the girls that are racing, not the parents. Otherwise it will be seen as another "R" card being used.
You expect a lot from these girls.
Maybe the peaceful protest would be best if it came not from the girls, not from their parents, but from the rest of us with no skin in that particular game, but in the big game in general, that want to protect our sport, our girls, and the future of both.
