Gutsy how? Sitting back in the pack and having no impact on the race at all?
She ran well and smart, but how exactly was it gutsy?

Umm, maybe she was tired.

Woohoo! New record for Katelyn Tuohy!
Collegiate #2 behind Simpson's 15:01.70, was on pace until about 4200 meters then fell apart on the penultimate lap. I think she missed her chance at the record now since the temperatures will be rising. Only legitimate shot she has is at USATFs.
No doubt. There's a lot of hype which makes Tuohy seem superhuman. She's doing fantastic but the pros are still at another level. I'm sure she'll make the transition when it's time. Great to see people performing well at all levels. What a great meet so far! Can't wait to see what Teare does in this next race.

SO CLOSE FOR TUOHY! Think she hit a wall the second to last lap and it cost her time off breaking 15.00. gutty performance against an elite field.
I really thought she was going to break 15 there until the end. Solid performance.
Infeld also set a PR, good for her

Thackery wasn’t a pacer, she just DNF’d

I think they're using AI to man the cameras.

ah yes. That magic juice LoL.
Tuohy has the official outdoor record now. Prior was Simpson in 15:07. Simpsons 15:01 was indoor on an oversized track so it didn't count as an official record. But yeah, #2 time all-time, all things considered.

Yeah, I generally like what Tracklandia does, but some questionable calls on the coverage. If you've got two cameras available, then your 5k coverage in the earlier race needs to be on 1) leader, and 2) Burns because everyone and their cousin knows he's going for the HS record. We didn't really see Burns. And in the women's 5k, the cameras need to be on 1) leader, and b) Tuohy because everyone and their cousin knows she's going for the collegiate record. We saw Touhy a little because she was almost in frame, but certainly not a focus. I don't care about the faraway second pack there, or whatever that second camera was doing, over the KT aspect.
2 laps to go. The peleton is catching Kioko!

Leads the last mile without much pressure from anyone, a week after 4:04 from the front. Alicia rubbing off on her.
Teare looked relatively relaxed and under control. Excited for his season; maybe he's starting to adjust to jerry world
