Pay attention. Astro said it would have been a disaster had she gone pro out if HS. Nobody knows. I merely pointed out that we don't know if she woukd be running 8:20 had she gone pro out if high school but Astro claims to know that she would be running poorly.

Well fortunately we never had to find out. Personally I think going to college and being able to develop and to recover from injury in a more supportive and forgiving environment than in the pros seems like a really smart decision.

Or maybe she would have burned out like Mary Cain, working as an assistant HS coach, living off her legendary pre-pro reputation. This type of speculation is rubbish. There is a very slim chance that after her knee surgery and bout with Covid, she would rise in 1-2 years to hold a World Record in the 3K. There is a good chance she can achieve close to the 14:30 while still in college. This would be a CR but not a WR. So why skip the free education and building a solid foundation, like other top pro’s? I don’t understand this rush to riches BS, that clearly doesn’t resemble her value system (and not mine…I’ve been there).

won the world Jr championship at 3000m, beating the africans

made a world championship final for adult women in 1500m.

The candle may have burned briefly, but very brightly. Her laurels are better than many pros who had 10year+ careers.

Your speculation is just as much rubbish. It is pretty insulting to Tuohy to say she may have burned out while another poster said she may be even better. Why would you say that?
