And? There are no age group awards. Schweizer has run nearly a minute faster than Tuohy in the 5000. So is Cook better than Tuohy using your logic?
Even by your logic, no. Cook ran a faster 5000 (we wont talk about at what age) in hs than Tuohy but did not get close to Tuohy's mile time in hs. But I can see how people think. When it suits them to use absolute times to slight Tuohy they do, but when that doesn't work they use time improvement rate, and when that doesn't work they find something else. So by the right combination of rationales there are a whole lot of runners way better than Tuohy.
Didn't Cook run faster as a Junior as I recall? Seems like it was you who wanted to point out that Tuohy was faster than Shweizer at the same age. Those were your rules that I was following. Cain ran faster at a younger age than Tuohy. What is the metric?

but not at the mile so can't say one is clearly better than the other (by your logic)....and btw I did not say Tuohy is better than Schweitzer - I did point out she is ahead of her in times in college so the those deeming her the "sheriff" should be careful
the only distance cook ran faster than katelyn was 2mile/5000m .. and thats because katelyn ran hers as a 15 year old while cook ran hers vs professional runners as an almost 19 year old high schooler, oh lets not forget how 19 year old natalie cook failed to break 16 year old katelyn tuohy's 3200m record despite using supershoe 😬
you sure dont like it when katelyn runs fast that you have to bring up her pr at 15 years old and say that a 19 year old high schooler ran faster than it 😬 just to say shes slow 😂
Yet you feign jumping on every bandwagon to detract from her achievements. In addition to her myriad crosscountry accolades, Tuohy set high school records in the mile, 3000, 3200 and 5000. Then she set the u20 record in the 3000. Then this record. First you compare her to pro runners who are years older. Then you cite a runner who never progressed beyond high school.
Bottom line, Tuohy has accomplished something very rare in US distance running, exhibiting great natural talent at an early age and then being able to sustain it and progress into college and hopefully beyond. She just broke a 14 year old record set by Jenny Simpson and you are laughably trying to downplay it. Sure seem like a hater. Just give her her due.
