I’ve finally realized (sadly) that the BroJos are not running this site to provide original journalism. We’ve seen two examples recently where they had the opportunity to be true journalists who investigate a story and report on it: the Huntington situation and this. In both cases, they sat on their hands and waited for other news outlets to break/confirm the story.
I now understand the BroJos are not journalists. They are merely commentators. I’ve seen others refer to RoJo as a wannabe Skip Bayless, and I think that’s an apt comparison. The purpose of this site is not to provide journalism. It’s to provide commentary, foster discussion, serve as an online community, and promote the sport. It has a great daily repository of news articles from other sources but very few original articles outside of meet previews and recaps with quick takes. I think that’s okay. It fills a void, and the BroJos stay in their lane.
Although I wish this site would have more journalism, I will no longer expect it because it’s not healthy to expect people to be something they’re not. The BroJos aren’t journalists, and that’s okay. I will focus on appreciating them for who they are and enjoying this site for what it is.
