That posters here begged letsrun's supposed journalists to confirm or deny this story for days, and then the Stride Report finally does it, speaks volumes about this site.
Fine to let rumors spread on the message board, but no actual effort whatsoever to verify or falsify them. Get to work, Brogaults!
Unfortunately Rojo didn't have time to dig into an actual news story about running because he was too busy posting about:
- A guy who had a fight with his wife about a Letsrun shirt.
- The soccer world cup teams in the final should refuse to do penalty kicks.
- US runners losing their "pro cards" for not running cross country.
- Sam Bankman-Fried's bail.
Rojo - what an amazing journalist!
An yet you're here enough to be current on rojo's writings.

I’ve finally realized (sadly) that the BroJos are not running this site to provide original journalism. We’ve seen two examples recently where they had the opportunity to be true journalists who investigate a story and report on it: the Huntington situation and this. In both cases, they sat on their hands and waited for other news outlets to break/confirm the story.
I now understand the BroJos are not journalists. They are merely commentators. I’ve seen others refer to RoJo as a wannabe Skip Bayless, and I think that’s an apt comparison. The purpose of this site is not to provide journalism. It’s to provide commentary, foster discussion, serve as an online community, and promote the sport. It has a great daily repository of news articles from other sources but very few original articles outside of meet previews and recaps with quick takes. I think that’s okay. It fills a void, and the BroJos stay in their lane.
Although I wish this site would have more journalism, I will no longer expect it because it’s not healthy to expect people to be something they’re not. The BroJos aren’t journalists, and that’s okay. I will focus on appreciating them for who they are and enjoying this site for what it is.
Friend, Rojo and company have never been journalists. Please don’t accuse them of such. This is a ragtag site kept together by the sheer obtuse will of its orphaned denizens.
Stay where she is by far most likely. She's 90 mins from home.
Oregon is very doubtful.
I know she went to Florida originally because it was close to home. But that decision was made the fall of her senior year in high school.
She is now 3 years older, more mature, and may be more comfortable being farther away from her high school town.
Florida may have known about Solinsky leaving for a while and may already have a new coach lined up. Whether or not Valby likes the new coach will probably have a big impact on whether she stays or transfers.
Social structure set up at UF, close to home, quality team.
Florida athletes don't like to leave the state. Look at their roster, which is almost entirely composed of Florida athletes, many of them Tampanians like Valby. Still, leaving for Oregon would set her up for her pro contract with BTC and the lifetime employment with Nike that a lot of them get, while going to a team like NC State would be like Kevin Durant signing with the Warriors. She gets a xc championship without actually being necessary to it. OK State would get her the championship but she would be getting them the championship just as much. She stays and she likely gets two more national championships in track this year as an integral member of a sprint-dominated team but has no competent distance coach or strong female teammates.
What? she has been one of the top Americans for the past dozen years. She has lived the life of a professional runner for more than 10 years and likely has enough saved to last the rest of her life. I don't even understand the comment.
I fear that Solinsky is making a huge mistake. Leaving the best program in the country to go to a place where he will never get credit for what the runners do since Jerry will get that. Leaving the best runner in the country behind. Valby was his ticket to getting the whole program at Wisco when they send Mick packing. Miscake!
The Stride Report has confirmed via multiple sources that Chris Solinsky, the current distance coach at the University of Florida, will become the next assistant distance coach for the Oregon Ducks. Solinsky, a former America...

This has been the case for 20+ years. As soon as someone else figures how to aggregate track articles this site will just be pure red pill chauvinist type content.
