Why is the average letsrun user so miserable?

It’s a direct reaction to the weaponized sensitive movements that have take over. You can’t say or do anything anywhere without being shamed or chastised or lose your job. The only release is on message boards without revealing you identity.

Letsrun is full of middle aged losers.

This place is populated by insecure men.

Old has beens and never was athletes that cannot accept that aging happens. They also grieve the reality that they will soon be forgotten by a sport that they dedicated too much time to. Records fall. Events disappear and past results also return to the ether. They are also being erased by footwear, training, and nutritional innovations.

A lot of frustrated men reside here. Post-marital shut off, divorce, and failure-to-launch are pretty common on these pages. No love leads to a dark soul and a hard heart.

The above describes roughly 70% of LRC users. Another 10% are hecklers and clowns that feed on the misery of others. Overall, it’s a hugely unattractive demo but, very sadly, a mirror reflection of the runners that you see near the front of your local racing scene: isolated, unfulfilled, and ultimately ignored by the masses.

Fake news. Runners are generally happy people. Why not? In shape, stamina high. Been to the grocery store lately or a large public event? Yep, Fatties everywhere. In my experience running is an upper middle-class sport. Money! I run Marathons and Ultras; race registrations keep rising. Shoes expensive, gear expensive. Yeah, I know there are shoes and gears for Poors but no Poors here. Quality shoes and gear needed in this summer heat. So, you're in shape and have money, what the hell is there to be miserable about? Nada.
