What you said is full of crap. Xav never apologized to huber for his dickish move on thursday. In fact once he fell he started insulting huber immediately, not once taking responsibility for his actions. During the race he even spat on one of his competitors and was aggressive with the elbows. How he acts usually is out of the question: Xav clearly does NOT belong at road races.
Xav is actually a really kind guy I know personally. He genuinely simply loves running, and supports the community both beginners and more serious amateurs alike. He didn't intend to send this guy into the rail like that, and this has all really tore him up. Even if he tried to keep him on his shoulder and out of fourth position, sometimes you get caught up in the moment and make a mistake. I've made dick moves in my life before that I've regretted. I've made dick moves in my life that I've taken time to take ownership for. It's a lot to process with so much attention on social media. What I will say, it's super sad to see the amount of vilifying, doxxing, and quite frankly cyber bullying this has all devolved into, including individuals impersonating him on the internet. In the medical tent, he apologized profusely to both Jack and his parents - who didn't accept it and have run with the story now because of the media attention. For a 1 second moment with no true harm intent, that's pretty low class in my opinion. Seeing some of the comments here are pretty hurtful. I hope one day the individuals saying some of these obscene statements let a little more compassion into their hearts, and realize this could happen to them or anyone they know at any time.
I think this is the responsible way to handle this situation. Things need to be kept in perspective. Hopefully the runner will come to realize much of what you say here and grow from the unfortunate decision, and the incident, and from the way the larger running community is reacting to it with outrage.

No, this could not happen to anyone I know, because I don't run with douchebags that bodycheck people at finish lines then lie about manhole covers that literally no one else had to veer into someone to avoid, lol. You're either a troll or a complete moron.
I see no difference between this and actually tackling someone. Thats asault brotha. Not gamesmanship. Should have curb stomped him profoundly. Some people you can't fix. They need a public humiliation courtesy of elbows and knees to the nose. Local races don't have fines and suspensions, need severe street justice. You know he's psychopath because after all that, if it was an accident you would ask the other guy if he is OK.

Are you kidding? The guy acts like he's in the middle of a WWE cage match during a local Turkey Trot and youre calling the victim and his family "low class"? They don't have to accept his apology right then, heck I'd still be fuming about the situation as well and wouldn't be receptive to the assailant at that moment either.
And how can you determine intent? He body checked the guy into railing...intentionally. His intent was to beat the other runner by any means necessary. I'm not willing to give someone like that the benefit of the doubt.
Again, this was a local Turkey Trot and this guy turned it into a mix of WWE and Hockey and you want to throw shade at the victim in your posts? You and the infamous runner seem to have some things in common.

There is probably a decent chance this is Xavier himself. If it is, you haven't learned your lesson. This isn't "cyberbulling" this is accountability. Someone could have gotten a concussion or far more seriously hurt from what happened. Just own the fact that you are very competitive, past results show you often finish within a few seconds of others even when people are quite spread out. You made a dumb mistake, but trying to cop out of it is making it worse.

The only mistake was perpetrated on the part of the runner behind me who impeded my running path. From him I have received no apology, but not do I ask for one. In the spirit of this holiday seasin (sic) I ask for peace for all
That's messed up but I gotta be honest here, the fact that this was over 4th place in a Turkey Trot is objectively kinda hilarious.
Chelimo doing this to get an Olympic medal is drama, but this is comedy so good you wouldn't change a single detail if you were trying to write a scene.
Times are still pretty quick, 31:45ish for 10k, probably somewhat competitive local runners that still have that dog in them
Not very quick they were guys racing not ladies. That would be quick for a lady but who knows how they identify?
If you take responsibility for the incident, the backlash doesn’t happen in the way it has.
“In the medical area, Salvador said he apologized to Huber and to Huber’s family. Huber said the apology didn’t include taking responsibility for the incident.”
