You seem to be an advocate for assimilation, Jews found out the hard way that assimilation doesn't help. In some countries they couldn't own land and they were forced to be merchants, bankers, and take on other occupations and yes live in certain areas.
Blacks and browns and Asians and Irish, Italians, Poles got all those good jobs picking crops, building railroads and subways, working in the coal mines.
Jews wanted those jobs but had to settle for being bankers and merchants!

I was specifically writing about Europe. In this country most of the Jews came after the 1880s. They had been merchants in Europe, they had trades and they continued with those trades. The garment industry in New York, mail order clothing catalogues, department stores were built by Jews. They were not in government in those days and they had little political influence. They also always valued education. College was expected. 60 years ago many very young Jews were expected to go to college to be a Dr, lawyer, or accountant. Many other young non Jewish kids wanted to be be plumbers, electricians, firemen, builders like their fathers.
Asian immigrants whose parents are the modern tailors, small store owners and merchants are using the same playbook and their kids are becoming computer scientists, engineers and doctors.

It's interesting that Halal stores and Arabs usually move into areas that were populated by Jews. Why? Because the Jews are the one group who always accepted diversity.
