Jim looks like he’s been running these routes his whole life and is in his element. as opposed to previous UTMB’s where he looks like someone teleported him there and said “go!”
haha true. That second Hoka vid was telling. For one I think Francois’ influence is all over this attempt, and secondly he kind of fesses up to running dumb races in the past and this time, wanting to run a UTMB race rather than a “Jim” race.

That's well said. He looks like he's running states where he knows every inch. I think this time he knows he's going to win. He put in the work. He's the fittest and the fastest out there.
Kilian said he had covid at SZ. He also said he’s going to run the whole race season in the same shoes. I know they’re trying to promote NNormal but by this point they’d have over 300ks on them - not sure that’s a great idea.
Kilian moving up again. But Jim is just so smooth I don’t see anyone catching him. By this point you’d expect if he was going to blow up it would have happened by now.

His choice to move to the region and train there in the Alps really paid off. Kudos to him.

Yeah Kilian looking much better on the trails than the road. Still in the game, Jim's going to have to hold strong.
I kind of saw this happening even before the Covid excuse. Jim is no joke. He has been preparing almost exclusively for this race. Kilian ran and set course records at Zegama and Hardrock before fading at SZ (was too short and fast). It reminds me of the last time he raced francios at utmb. Francios made it his A race and Kilian had just come off a monster season (including a win at SZ). He was always one step behind the whole race at looked tired. He just hung on for second as the gap got bigger. He keeps saying he feels fine etc but I wish he would just prepare for utmb properly for once. It’s not like when he used to win all the time.
