Tyrone Gorze - second fastest nonsenior at Eastbay champs Watchlist: Kevin Sanchez, Keegan Smith, Zach Munson, Jason Parra, Simeon Birnbaum, Milo Skapinsky, Gus Clevenger, Jacob Laney, Patrick Koon, Wes Shipsey, Grant Pierce, Ford Washburn, Jimmy Wischusen, Brayden Seymour, Jackson Heidesch, William Schneider, Hunter Jones, Tayson Echohawk, Rendon Kuykendall
Also NBP’s Martinez and that 9:02 Soph from NBP no one talks about.
Not sure martinez will be running this year. He will probably be np’s 7th guy if he is.
will be curious to know where Seymour stacks up though.
Apparently a lot of people talk about that 9:02 guy actually. Way more than any other 7th man. Ever.
I can imagine that Doshi will be very close to Seymour based on the jumps he’s always been making

What kind of BS is this?
Herriman beat all UT teams and they are not even in here? What a disrespect to Doug. I thought they knew him too well to not rank them. Clearly they are #1 in the SW rn
Carroll got a kid move to Idaho and a few of guys out because of an injury. Coppell seems to come close to them. And yet they aren’t ranked. coppell didn’t graduate a single person and also got 2 juniors come out of nowhere and became their number 3 and 4 guys.
creekside and Farragut has better SRs than belen
wayzata lost to 2 unranked mn teams
Central catholic lost to a bunch of unranked Oregon teams
These are pre-seadon bro. They were decided 3 weeks ago they've just been revealing a new team daily to build hype. The next edition will have the placements change according to all the things you mentioned.

Criminal to not have Corning ranked. #16 based on returning 3200 times, even better returning speed ratings, history of team success...far better outlook than Kickapoo or any other team ranked lower than that, except maybe Granada and Union Catholic (who are also severely under-ranked).

Agree that Corning should be on there. Granada should be in front of great oak and uc should be in front of CBA. Yes UC lost 2 guys whereas CBA lost 1, but CBA didn’t even win NXR and UC wasn’t there. UC got a really good transfer and had a freshman who didn’t score last year step up.
How is Niwot in front of Buchanan? Niwot lost so many girls and Buchanan lost nobody and got some good freshmen girls.
Saratoga Springs returns 3 juniors and the wheelers, and there is an 8th grader that is able to keep up with the juniors. Next year they will need a #5 or Buchanan could take them down.
Buchanan could take them down this year if Toga can’t put together a solid top 5 at nationals. Buchanan has way more depth .
In 2 years Buchanan will be better than Saratoga for sure and could become the best in the nation by a huge margin. Ventura is looking to go to NXN that year too
Are there any teams more deserving than Southlake Carroll being left off the top 25?
As a Preseason it might be appropriate as 4th Texas 6A and 21st at Garmin. Southlake only lost Kaylie Cox (Arkansas) and you can look at the Spring improvements returnees running in March Alexandra Walsh 17:26, Audrey Dunn 17:33, Sylvia Schwedler 17:55, Ava Bushaw 18:08, and Natalie Ng 18:30.
Just using the MileSplit Ranking System itself 2021 Results for 2022 Returnees it has Southlake Carroll in 5th.
It doesn't really matter, they do what they can quickly. Midseason rankings will show the current 5k's and head to head results like at Woodbridge. Southlake will be up there.
Flower Mound is probably appropriate for now until they prove depth and consistency 5+, but look for them to move up in the rankings as they have 2 sub 17 and another low 17 talent. They are similar story to NP as they broke the national 4x1 and then only lost 1 off the team.
What am I missing for Saratoga being #1? A bunch of recruits? Even based on their Spring track I'm not seeing anything that screams #1. They also aren't very deep. They are #12 based on 5k returnees.
The article seems to be lingering too much on past history and success, I also found it interested they said "Saratoga which returns five runner with PRs under 19 minutes for 5K." Don't most top 10 teams have all their top 7 and even several JV running under 19?
How is Niwot in front of Buchanan? Niwot lost so many girls and Buchanan lost nobody and got some good freshmen girls.
Pretty clear how Niwot is ranked ahead of Buchanan, actually. Buchanan is a very strong team no doubt. But....
#1 - Niwot is returning 8 girls that have run altitude 5:10 or faster. (~5:03 sea level) #2 - Mia Prok's younger sister Anna is now a freshman on the team. She ran a 4:58 last spring as an 8th grader. #3 - Dathan Ritzenheim's daughter, Addison, is also a freshman at Niwot. She's been brought along slowly - kudos to her family - but she'll be with the others before long.
Rocky Mountain ID will be top 25 if their #5 gets back to where he was based on how he did at Caldwell. They are the ones that got the transfer from Southlake Carroll. Sharing is caring.
And I really think that it’s a joke when anyone picks Southlake Carroll over Jesuit LA (even with hill still on the team) based on what was done before this season.
Jesuit LA had the second fastest group of 3200 runners last spring. And that’s when you include people who graduated. I’m sure Cheyenne mountain was missing some guys. Jesuit Oregon’s 5th needs to stick with their 2-4 and all 5 need to be on top of their game at nationals in order to beat Jesuit LA.

You make a point comparing Spring 3200's. However, Jesuit LA got all their 3200 PR's at Southlake! :D This was the VERY fast Texas Distance Festival. Their 3200 PR's here were 5-20 seconds faster than their 2nd best times of the season. Southlake put all of their Varsity in the 5,000 so didn't have their entire Varsity setting 3200 PR's. Southlake seems to get stronger as you go up in distance. Barely one boy under 4:20 in the 1600, but a dozen under 16.
So yes Jesuit should be ranked higher based on Garmin and returning 3200 times, but if you sort returning 5k's then it is much closer Jesuit just has a 2 second average advantage.
As someone familiar with the NY running scene, I will tell you this. Corning will finish in the top 10 at NXN this fall, and St. Anthony's will not qualify.
That’s not what their speed ratings from yesterday are showing
