Oh...SOOOO close to finally being right about something. You were right before and got my seal of approval. Now, you've jumped back onto the side of wrong. Shame.
"So he did what he did?" Assault is not acceptable. WTF is wrong with you?
I do not need your approval for anything. We either agree or disagree. Quit being so righteous on this board.
Pretending it was real for a bit. What's your take on will initially laughing, and then manning up after seeing his wife's reaction? Looks like he was more afraid of what would happen at home later.

Everyone needs my approval if they are to be correct.
hey i wrote that silly chris rock will smith slap bit. we knew we’d push some buttons but comedy is meant to provoke and make people think, i’m proud we did both those things tonight at #Oscars2022 !
2) As even the running lawyer mentioned, Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock simply by walking angrily up to him and then swinging (before even making contact).
3) The non-legal definition of assault (and since this hasn't entered the realm of the justice system, it is MORE THAN acceptable to use this definition) is exactly what Will Smith did - " make a physical attack on."
Why are you so invested in this . Are you related to Chris Rock ?
1) I COULD be related to Chris Rock. Who knows?
2) I do not have any reason to believe I am related to Chris Rock.
3) This situation pisses me off for a couple of main reasons - A) Chris Rock is a total victim here. He did not deserve that at all; B) Will Smith has money, power, and privilege that most people can't even imagine...an estimated Net Worth of $350 million, and with all of that money, power, and privilege, he decides to hit a comedian for an extremely tame joke? What thin skin for a guy who has everything. F*ck Will Smith. Who does he think he is doing that?
I'm guessing that if that had been the Rock telling that joke, instead of Chris Rock, Will Smith would have just continued laughing and shaking his head. But when someone who has made it this far in life without assaulting people does it all of a sudden at a mild, indirect joke on global tv--in an awards ceremony where most of the comedy these days involves insults of the actors at the ceremony--you have to look at the backstory. It's not only that his wife has been deeply hurt by this condition, but because she has had numerous affairs and made their relationship a laughingstock in a public forum with him there. Will Smith attacks Chris Rock for this joke when guys have been with his wife for years. Talk about taking something out on the wrong person. Now he returns the favor and heightens worldwide attention on his wife's condition, which would otherwise have been all but ignored. His reaction after the incident was because he knew he messed up and put his whole career on the brink. The only reason he could get away with this is that he is a very big fish in Hollywood and Chris Rock is a piker. And as for Chris Rock, he showed his toughness. We know that he was bullied as a kid, and it continues. It was a low blow on both sides. The restraint Chris Rock showed, though, was commendable because he could have said many worse things in response to that crack about keeping his wife's name out of his mouth.
