tbh she needs to post more on Tiktok. If she posts training content, workout videos (for average people), duets famous people, and does all the trends, she could probably get a lot of followers there. She'd make a decent amount from each Tiktok she posts, which can really add up if she posts a couple times a day. And her followers would find her Instagram and YouTube and follow her there too.
Colleen definitely reads every single one of these posts and I bet she’s fuming that people dislike her so strongly.

I think she reads these too. She posted a "burn" of The running news website that won't be named on her IG story the other day when Kyle Merber released his news letter.

Who wants to sell shoes? The money is in leggings and sports bras these days. You might not like her woke personality but it sells to a demographic. These days you don't want to appeal to everyone (MJs republicans buy sneakers) but to a niche that is passionate about what you believe in. You just need to make sure the niche you choose is big enough(and has money). And in a lot of cases the difference between WC gold and making the team is about zero.
But as the previous poster mentioned, this type of stuff is time expensive. You don't want to spent 8hours/day working on your social media life when you are a pro runner.

I think because we are runners we over value our niche. My teens (who couldn't care less about runners) watch 18-23 year olds studying on youtube that get 8 times as many views as she does. Same on instagram. "Only 28" in social media world is close to maxing out whether we want to believe it or not.
And now we know why one is a multiple American record holder and the other won a U.S. indoor mile once.
I predict she doesn't make the steeple team. She'll be injured.
Why does someone like her care about a shoe sponsor? Why not try and LuluLemon to sponsor you and then get like a sunglass company, a watch company, a sock company, maybe a high end liquor company and just plaster her singlet with sponsors. Then she can run in whatever shoes she wants or clothes for that matter.

If you want to sell leggings and sports bras you don't sponsor a rail thin no curves 28 year old distance runner slinging CBD. You sponsor the 22 year old ass model with 2.5 million followers who is in the gym.

Or go for a blonde bombshell 400m runner that is competitive on a national level in your company's home country with 1.6 million followers ;-)

If the slave labor used by corporations was the issue why didn't she come out and say that? That would be a great platform and frankly one that isn't mentioned enough by all the woke athletes.

She doesn't spread positivity though. If anyone nicely points out that she posts triggering content that shows real disordered eating habits she tells them to basically get over it. I can find multiple examples or you could just look at her own posts and the comments. Whether or not you agree that it's her responsibility to censor her own triggering posts, you can't say she is spreading positivity to the young women who follow her and see her calling their EDs "baggage" that is "not her problem"
In her most instagram story today (boomerang video of her wearing hyperice on her back) when the camera pans down you can tell she's wearing brooks shoes. Looks like a Ghost 14 to me? Not where I would have guessed she'd go but its the first non-Nike i've seen on her aside from the photo a couple of weeks back when you could see some Saucony's off to the side.

Ms. Quigley has been very open about living with her boyfriend of many years. Co-habitation before marriage is not a good habit for a solid marriage, and it is sad, for me, anyway, to read that perhaps "she inspires many young girls" - I hope they do not become as regressive as I think she is in that regard.
And the BLM support - ugh! I have to question the intellect of someone who supports BLM thinking that it is good for blacks:
- BLM is anti-capitalistic and I think blacks would do better to be more entrepreneurial.

That is like say I made over 250k last year while running a 18 min 5k(yeah I am old). It is true but not relevant. Botez doesn't make money from instagram from everything I have read. She makes it from twitch streaming where she has 3x as many people and they tend to be considered more valuable eyeballs.
Estimated I have seen suggest most influencers are getting on the order of $100-300/100k followers/paid post for the type of influencer she is (i.e we aren't talking about the rock or kylie jenner. And things like engagement rates matter.). Note the type of products CQ is promoting. Not exactly fortune 500 companies. Or even fortune 3k. But probably more than you would make at the shoe store if you put in the time.
Break out and get 5m followers and you are doing the same amount of work but getting paid like 20x+ as much. Problem of course is growing it that much. CQ is putting in the time. It will be interesting to see if she can keep it growing.
Yeah I'm not suggesting Quigley is making money from instagram either, she's running in the Olympic Trials, World Championships, Olympic games, etc etc. It seems like a billion eyeballs (3.2 billion watched the Rio Olympics!) should be worth more in ad revenue than whatever Botez or anyone else on Twitch is doing.
7 months ago on another Quigley thread, I explained how heavily disliked she was by her FSU teammates; male and female alike. She would party with them and then rat them out, spoke down to them, etc. I noted such behavior would eventually cause a riff within BTC. The Brojos deleted it for some reason. It wasn't negative, it was just factual. Now, it's pretty apparent that such behavior led to her departure from BTC. When you're right, you're right.
I would still sign her in a heartbeat. Running is an individual sport. Even if she is bi-polar, brands should be supporting mental health, not criminalizing it. Just like Molly Seidel got help for her mental health issues (and she's a lone wolf), the same should be for Quigley. And by the way, I know Quigley has multiple offers lined up, I just think it's silly for all of you to be harping on someone's behavior.
