I completely agree with you. If the money went to people who actually did something to make this possible, it would be different, but Milesplit adds nothing. They just block people from watching, so they make a negative contribution. They took something that could have been inspiring to a large community of people during an incredibly tough time, and they made it just one more example of greed and manipulation. Even with PPV Milesplit is probably not making money from this event. Do you think getting a filming crew to Sacramento and putting on a livestream costs nothing?

It didn't need a film crew. At a big meet where multiple events are happening at once, sure. But this is just one race. An amateur could have filmed and streamed it.

They are BLOCKING other people from filming, streaming and seeing it.

Stop. Who did they contract with? Milesplit is doing this as a favor to their subscribers. It will cost them $1000 in airfare, salary, hotel, and rental car to put this on. They will make nothing for doing it. What is wrong with you people? Flotrack is pretty much a nonprofit yet you pay $1000 to go to an NFL game due to the players demanding $5M.

You do know that nonprofit is a tax designation, right? I has nothing to do with the actual profits the business reports. A lot of hospitals are nonprofits, for example

If it's at Sac State as some have alleged it will be, has the school signed off on this? Or for that matter, if it's at a local high school, does everyone just jump the fence, and hope for the best?

As mentioned earlier in the thread, there is an official timing system and all times will be official.
