Anyway, it's unfortunate that this whole thing was so tainted at the end. Haha, I like your thinking. I actually voted for Samuelson, but also thought Rojo's campaigning tainted the poll. I also wonder if the emphasis on Joanie vs. Jennie will take away from Kastor's chances in the final? Her resume should put her in any conversation of best ever in the U.S.

Depending on their back room shenanigans, this is how I'm voting in the final:
Kastor > Simpson
Samuelson > Kastor (mostly due to Samuelson's historic marathon wins and records; IMHO, Kastor was definitely the better overall runner when you consider her track and XC performances); Honestly, this will be a tough call for me. I may still go with Kastor.
Shorter > Ryan (I honestly had a hard time picking in the semis. All four have made legitimate cases for GOAT Americans.)

But I am in the Pacific time zone, which you should be able to verify by my IP address. At this point it was 12:33 AM ET and Jenny had a 51-49 lead. Out of curiosity, I continued to monitor the poll as I was awake for a few more hours, and it eventually slid to 50-50, some of which was still likely tipped towards Jenny (hidden by rounding). Joanie did not have a 51-49 lead until this morning.
This, accompanied by other posters mentioning Simpson's victory at midnight Eastern time, should make it quite clear what the proper result is.
As a follow-up, this screenshot below demonstrates that my current location is in California, and that my own computer's clock shows a time of nearly noon, vs. my post time of almost 2:00 Central time.

You guys are missing the point. This Jenny Simpson drama was nothing more than a ploy to make sure Shorter finished ahead of Rupp in the poll. The brojos hate Rupp. They were busy rigging the poll against Rupp while we were arguing about Jenny vs Joanie.
