Although the results are a little questionable , they are not totally crazy (probably miscalibration/mismeasurement). I checked out the first couple marathon guys and they all seem to all be capable of running within shouting distance of the times reported (based on results of people with the same name/demographics).
It looks like people used Seth's virtual race for what it was intended to be -- putting the Spring Marathon training block to use.

I was more generally describing a way that people can cheat with Strava, rather than speaking to the specifics of the race in question. There is a runner in my area who has his foot pod so severely miscalibrated that his Strava "miles" are actually only 0.7 miles. It makes it appear that he runs sub-6:00 pace all the time, and consistently puts him over 100 "miles" a week at the top of club leaderboards.
